Paintings - Keep Colors

I'd like to make a request to put a stop to whoever in the art department has a sepia filter addiction. There are so many beautiful pictures that you either can't tell the location or the life has been drained out of them due to the sepia filter being applied. I'm hoping some of the new paintings do have color, because all the ones in the preview shot were filtered.

Maybe take a look at how many paintings with color variation are being used in the frames and how many with the sepia filter? I'd be interested in seeing the stats on that.

I feel they do the sepia filter for a 'brush stroke' effect, but why not just.. overlay that over the colored version? idk.

Yes please. I was hoping they'd actually go back and ADD the color to the existing paintings, but apparently the new ones come in the poopy brown variety too. :/

It's not artistic, it's not evocative, it's downright ugly.

I'm wondering if somehow the ugly monochromatic paintings are easier on the system and that's why they keep using them. There are very few that look good in sepia and most are downright ugly, but it could be some sort of memory saving measure or something. If that is the case then I'm guessing we are going to be stuck with them, given how SE usually handles cosmetic problems caused by system limitations. :/

I refuse to use the ugly sepia monstrosities. Aside from making some locations unrecognizable, they're downright hideous next to any color palette I've ever used in a design. I end up using duplicates of what few paintings do look good, just to avoid those things.

Ditch the sepia!

I never got any paintings because of that filtered look. Hope they add colors like the one on the easel they are adding

+1. Could use better paintings if possible.

It's probably just a time saving measure, as those red pictures are taken straight from the Sightseeing Log's thumbnail. The handful of new paintings made specifically for this feature were colored, and frankly quite beautiful to look at.

The one on the easel has been in the game since they added paintings. MOST of the paintings have that horrid filter, but there are a few of them that don't, and are quite beautiful. Preview them at the NPC or market board to see which are which.

The sepia ones are so ugly...there are so many colorful areas in the zone :(

Give us the Gpose filter options for the paintings!

If I was going to do a landscape painting in real life, I wouldn't make the entire thing brown. Is brown the only paint color in Eorzea or something?

In addition to more use of color in the paintings, it would be awesome to vary the style of painting as well. Impressionist, cubist, pointelism -- that would really add to the uniqueness of each piece and would give more options depending on the motif of the room.
