It's a good thing but I'm kinda sad. I, myself, started this game on PS3 and transfered my account to PS4 system later on.
Any of you guys still play on PS3? If so, what are you planning to do? Drop the game or migrate to another system?

PS3 support ended yesterday or early this morning depending on how a person looks at it. As it technically ended with maintenance started.
I'll miss it. Despite the long loadings, the limited HUD, the limited number of items on screen and the weird lag that I don't have on PC despite share the same connection.
And the airplane sound when heat hits hard.
I played the beta here, and I have both PS3 and PC versions. I use the PS3 when my laptop was overheated, and vice versa.
Goodbye, Satan
same. i waited years for ps3. Got to be part of the testing before the release had some of my best memories of the game. I upgraded to ps4 but ps3 will forever be how i got into ffxiv
I started in 1.0 on PC and when 2.0 I wanted to play on console so bought a PS3 license and dropped it like a hot potato and went back to PC (since got free license from playing 1.0) as my PC ran it much better and continued on PC until the PS4 version came out, which I used the free upgrade transfer.
Hope tomorrow will not start a flooding of "OMG GAME DONT WORK IN MY PS3 FIX THAT PLOX" threads.
2 or 3 threads. At least. I'm sure it will be more these players assuming they just aren't getting Stormblood and can still play ARR/HW.
Anyway, I was part of PS3 beta, and when I jumped into PS4, I was a little bit stunned at how janky it comparatively was. It got the job done, but it's due for retirement.
it's already ended, PS3 players will not be able to access this game again as the game is now down for maintenance and the game will be updated for stormblood when it returns.
I've only ever played the PC version, from the original 1.0 release onward. As you can expect, my feelings about the PS3 version are less... charitable, shall we say?
That said, it does evoke something of a reaction in me. Dropping support from a system is a big deal, and something SE hasn't really done before (except during FFXI's twilight hours). I do think it will be a good decision, overall, but who's to say? It'll also be interesting to see whether they take a similar approach to the PS4 in a few years, when it becomes every bit the burden the PS3 has been.
Started on ps3 switched over to ps4 when they had thier first ps4 free upgrade campaign and instantly enjoyed ff14 gazillion times more xD no more gettin locked out of fights cause slow loading cutscenes lol
I'm a bit disappointed to see it go. I have a secondary FFXIV account (though I only occasionally activate it). Although I'd switched to primarily using PS4 ever since the PS4 version released, having PS3 as well allowed me to log in with both accounts concurrently (useful when I want to do things like invite my own alts into my FC). Now I'll be losing that ability since they'll both be limited to PS4 and I only have one PS4.
I also miss PS3's ability to take immediate screenshots. PS4's pattern of hitting the screenshot button and then waiting a second or two before it screencaps makes action shots pretty much impossible. But I pretty much gave up that ability years ago anyway, when I switched to primarily playing on PS4. Except for that, PS4 is equal or better on everything else.
The bigger question is what limitations will they use as an excuse to not add certain features now that they can't blame PS3 any more?
I still have my PS3 but have not touched since i purchased a PS4
Good riddance. Held back the game too long.
PS3 was a breakthrough hardware ten years ago, but the PS3 version ended due to technical problems.
You can expect further quality with Windows version and PS4 version.
I want a lot of convenient functions with PS4 version.
Thanks for PS3
