Butt Slider plz.

I was playing Skyforge today, and even that game, which is inferior to FFXIV, has a butt slider. When will we get ours SE? My thighs are thicc, but my butt is not worthy.

But, yeah, I feel you, dude. My girl is busty as all get but her rear is flat as a pancake. Even cruddy ESO has a butt slider so why don't we? :(

And yes, I recall Yoshi P gave the crowd his ubiquitous "really?" when asked about it at Fan Fest. Didn't promise it, but said it would be looked into.

Why are you stopping at a butt slider? We need a lot more customization then just that.

Yoshi stated that butt sliders or sliders in general will most likely not be implemented into the game, due to armor being stretched to adjust to the feature. In order to do it the Dev team will have to rework all the armor to which could take time away from other important features.

More character customization or not, eventually they'll have to upgrade their ancient engine... Sooner is a lot better then later.

The mesh stretching over geometry isn't an engine issue, just an art issue. It can definitely be really noticeable(just look at bigger races in WoW and GW2), but I don't think it'd be that bad in XIV unless the hypothetical slider lets us go completely insane.

Don't the textures and armor stretch out on the breast slider, too? I noticed that when messing around with it while making a female roe character. The textures and starter gear stretched out noticably, but not to the point of it being an eyesore or anything.

Honestly reworking on all the gear probably would be difficult, but not something too stressful if at least worked on little bit by bit over time and then released at a later date. Because getting something like a reworked Diadem or the new Squadron feature, but not a simple butt slider kinda seems weird because really which one if these would really be the hardest to work on?

I suspect chest gear was al ready designed to accommodate breast stretch, where butt covers were not.

Would be nice, but not holding my breath. As soon as you allow models to change proportions, you add a huge level of complexity to outfits. Adding a butt slider might cost us dozens of outfits.

The absolute worst case scenario I can see is that hips/butts would clip through robes and coats, which is probably possible for some of the more form-fitting options depending on how everything's coded. It's all speculation on my part, so there's not much to do but keep bugging senior devs and wait and see.

Just like how some armour can increase or decrease bust size, just introduce pants that increase butt size,

AS Kethic mentioned, the armor was not designed for sliders. The only thing was bust size. Adding new pants and forgetting the old ones will cause clipping issues. Adding sliders will require the Art and Graphics team to readjust all the armor pieces that do not support this feature. If they have their team work on these than this could cost us possible content. Players won't leave for flat butts, but they will leave for a lack of playable content. As far as the Dev. team sees it, it is not a priority. Don't expect sliders until 5.0 if anything.

More or less.

The request for butt adjustments has been around since V2.0 beta since the Mi'qote lost their butts in the update. They also lost all the clothes that accommodated their tail.

It is a Japanese game, there likely is not much of a pressing need to have that kind of magnet available, but in all seriousness, they likely just designed all the gear to fit all the models to reduce the complexity on the devs, and if they had to accommodate butts, they might not have the intended effect.

Personally it doesn't bother me so much that the butts are missing, it's the tails clipping through the armor that bothers me more. If they are ever going to address this, please fix all the races pants gear so they actually look like they accomodate butts and tails and not just clip through things.

Stretched art textures are nowhere near as much of an eyesore as an anatomically impossible concave posterior. I don't see why it's suddenly impossible when they had no issues with it in 1.0.

I think we don't want a butt slider per se, rather we like to see the body proportions, features and details the characters had pre-2.0.
No idea why the devs were asking the audience if they really want a butt slider - It might have been a case of 'lost in translation'.

I've seen pics side by side here on the forum and i find it very very hard to see a difference so watching them by themselves i would say nobody could really tell

How can you say this, when this very thread (one among many) is, in fact, very much asking for a butt slider?

While I'm guessing the majority of folks who participate in these threads WOULD, in fact, be satisfied just to have larger built-in butts (and skip the slider thing altogether), the fact remains that whenever butt size is brought up, a slider is requested. No, nothing was lost in translation; Yoshi P asked if folks really wanted butt sliders, because of numerous threads asking for exactly that.

I'd love it but I'm pretty sure the dev team said it was too much of a nightmare to do because of clipping/armor issues

The real problem is what they don't tell you about.
They don't tell you that the only way sliders would work is if they made every piece of gear race/gender specific like race starting gear.

How with an easier method then: Glamour-armor with bigger butts? There are some armor that clearly Change Body propotions already, so just make the ass more booty the next time you create new armor and swimsuits. That way the devs don't have to rework all the armor ingame and I could still Glamour over it and everybody is happy. ;)

It will never happen...Yoshi-P is clearly a bust-man... >w>

An easier method? What for? FFXIV makes a ton of money, they don't have any problems with funds, they should easily be able to add sliders...

Please no artifical sliders, we want real sliders here!
