Which DoH/DoL jobs fit each Combat Job's "personality" best?

whaddya think?

Which Trades/Gathering would each DoW/DoM be most likely to take up?

or am I looking at this wrong, from a lore perspective?

CNJ/WHM -> Botanist, cuz they're all naturey and stuff.
LNC/DRG -> Fisher, spearfishing!
MRD/WAR -> Miner, cuz they like to beat up boulders.

Even the LB3, if memory serves, is the WAR breaking a HUGE rock.

All the Gridania starting jobs really benefit from the DoH/DoL classes in Gridania. Carpenter makes all their weapons and shoes for CNJ/WHM (unless I'm misremembering) while Leatherwork gives armor all three (though CNJ/WHM get less than the other two) and Botany directly ties into Carpentry. So if you main a class/job that starts in Gridania, it's a good idea, lore and gameplay wise, to do those classes.

All DoM would probably interested in Alchemy for the Ethers, plus it makes weapons for the Arcanist Jobs and wands for CNJ/WHM.

THM/BLM -> Goldsmith; they know how to take bling into the afterlife.
ACN/SMN -> Alchemist; books, and, after 4 years, a Carbuncle dye.
GLD/PLD -> Blacksmith; can't yet block magic, yet it still damages shield durability.

Setting aside game benefits, as we're talking about the lore aspect, THMs/BLMs would deffo pick up alchemy. The more obvious reasons such as potions and self improvement were already covered in the THM 1-30 quests, and then there's the fact hat both classes have an avid fascination with death and the afterlife.

Dark Knight goes with Botanist.

Since they are from Ishgard, a cold world of snow, they will have to cut trees to keep the warming fires going.

MCH would probably go in for BSM, ARM and GSM. Beyond making and maintaining their own firearms, interest in magitek pairs well with interest in clockwork, materials science and engineering.

If the dark knight is of the loner variety, it's likely they'd take up armorer, blacksmith and alchemy as their three crafts of choice - it is unlikely they'd want to depend on anyone to provide for them (as you could assume from their class quest).

I'd say DRKs profession of choice would be weaver.

Wouldn't the making of glow-tattoos go to Alchemists instead? The usual speakers of those quotes don't seem to have much use for garments...
