[Dev question] SB live letter, SMN and SCH, cleric stance

So the spells SCH has are INT based... so what is going to happen come SB?
Can we finally split the 2 jobs ?
How is stat point work for these 2 jobs now?
Can SCH have its own set of spells now?

Summon I and Summon II carbuncles while you're on arcanist but fairies while you're on scholar. You can assume that Bio, etc. will switch to MND when your job stone is equipped.

That never sat with me well. The icons still show carbuncles in the ability square but summon faeries. This is such a mess and I just can't picture the same spell being able to use different stats, I mean isn't this why they had problems balancing the jobs in the first place?

Since alot of skills are getting new icons, I do hope they change the SCH and SMN summon spell icons aswell.

It is actually pretty simple.
When SCH, your MIND STAT, dictates your Magic Attack Potency, while on SMN your INT STAT, dictates your Magic Attack Potency, it has NOTHING to do with the skills or spells themselves.

Its pretty simple, I don't know how you thought that the skills have different stats attached to them or something.

An no, you do not get different skill icons, because summoners do not get new skill icons with egi's.

Also I main SMN and SCH, and LOVE them both, so this is not attack on any job.

They had problems balancing Scholar because any changes they did to the skills, the DoTs, Ruin and Ruin II primarily, affected both Scholar and Summoner. Making it so that your primary damage stat is a different stat than the norm (INT) is easy, because they can easily tie it to the job stone being equipped.

only reason to care is if you need to squeeze every inch of efficiency (speedrunning)

They made no indication that they are splitting the Jobs in Stormblood. Maybe in 5.0.

Not necessarily... when discussing the leveling tomes, they said there will be -13-, not -12.- This would suggest Scholar and Summoner each have a different tome. I suppose that could be just for different sets, but its something to think about, along with the Mind Changes for Healers.

Think of skills like Skull Sunder and Fracture, which are Marauder(VIT) skills that you can place on DRG(STR) skills. The "weaponskills" you use on your job are influenced by the main attribute of your weapon, this is what they are doing for healers.

Originally they just designed it where all magic spells from the mage side=INT mod, now they've specialized it to be based around the main attribute of the role.

Gear would be the reason for that. it gives you gear too so that isn't proof for anything. Though it is a bit worrying, if you buy a 60 SMN, you can bypass the SCH teaching thing?

Yes how are the same skills use 2 different stats? it is the same thing. If they can divide the stats why can't they divide the skills? it is the same logic.
