It's a damage buff.
TOP KEK.
No more excuses healers.
Would have been happy with just the CD remove, but this is the best outcome imo.
And they said that it is optional to use. . Also appears there are a lot more options than slots, which I didnt expect lol.
Just to add to your post for others, Cleric Stance now temporarily boosts your damage spells and no longer swaps your stats as your damage spells are based on mind.
This does mean though that healer's baseline damage is increased (without stance dancing) making it easier to deal damage.. and less of a reason not to be.
Cleric Stance (not a stance) will be staying and will be using MIND for magic damage. It is an action buff. It will be placed in the new ROLE actions so ALL healers do not "have to" use it.
This is awesome. I'm so happy.
I loved CS Alot where it was at. It made it exciting to have that risk where you was healing on the wrong stance. Just the risk is/ was exciting... Now...ehh
But also, MIND will be used on healers regarding damage spell calculations instead of Intelligence for 4.0.
haha the post that was here a few weeks ago was right rip cleric , but these tank changes I dono
I'm sure that's an easier adjustment for them. Remember, they said damage will scale with Mind so we will have to wait to see exactly what scales. The damage boost from the new cleric could mean lower overall damage but a larger burst.
Will be interesting to see.
Don't you love how people is so lazy that only read the title and replay stuff already posted by someone?
Well, I don't share some players delight that 'cleric stance is dead', however the change being made makes sense. Conjurers should not have to flip their minds to do damage, their magic is Mind based, as should their damage be. I like the change of CS into a damage buff, like Raging Strikes is. This streamlines things a bit, although it does reduce the strategic thought needed to play healer well. I hope it does not lead to further homogenization of jobs in the same role, but I rather suspect that it will.
I think it is a good baseline change as it was requiring healers to give up their primary purpose to fulfill an important but ultimately secondary purpose, now they don't have to accidentally face plant. However, perhaps they can bring that feeling into a specific type of job but I think this is actually a really simple but good change for healers as a whole.
Makes it easier on everyone lol. Healers can more easily DD without feeling awful that they did 200hp cure and party wiped, meanwhile people can be like "your dps doesn't suck so please do it" :P.
I'm curious how many will not slot esuna though :D :D
Highly likely they clicked on the thread and just replied slower than others to a thread that was blank or only a few posts.. we're live man.
Oh yeah if you go further down in my post you see that I said that, not sure if you were trying to correct me or agree :D
But yes absolutely, healers now should attempt to contribute in the damage department (of course primary purpose is still to heal, but to damage deal is much easier and reasonable request onto healers).
I didn't mean optional like "optional to do damage" I meant it like they said it is optional to slot the ability, like you don't need cleric stance is how they made it sound.
Could someone please point out where the changes are listed? I'd like to know what's going on. Thanks!
/big hug
No excuse to not DPS as a healer expect a kick now if you want to stand around and do nothing

They're going over a lot of stuff so there is somethings you'll have to back track onto~ Mostly UI changes, so if you start now you should get to go over it as a unit still.
Some things come to mind like, tank role stun skill, bunch of defense stuff, goad for all melee and an ability that lets you ignore directional for 15 seconds, stuff like that.
Didn't expect this big a change to cleric, let alone switching our DPS abilities over to MND (Finally omg), colour me impressed.
Gonna assume that healer DPS will take a blanket hit in the process of switching over to MND, but making Cleric an optional ability for a bit more oomph on openers and such is a nice call I think.
It's amusing that my group knows as well as I do that this change is going to suit me to an absolute T, I'll get to be cautious and conservative but also keep dots up np <3
As a WHM main, Cleric Stance was one of my only frustrations. I look forward to more dynamic healer roles now that they don't have to plan content around a healer stance dance.
Lol! Healer has a pull ability.
Sick of seeing that player getting into the puddle? Yoink!
Fml looks like we'll all be relearning from the ground up.
They gave WHM Lifegrip. *WoW flashbacks involving priests and lava/ledges/certain death*
I'm going to have fun with this...
I'm not sure how I feel about this, but as long as it's not a HUGE DPS loss I'll probably be happy. I wonder what this means for healer attacks in PvP, though; will I actually be able to defend myself 1v1 again?
What!? I would never do such a thing, how could you even suggest it!?
>_>
I'm more concerned about Esuna being optional. Pardon?
Starting with an attitude of expecting people playing healers will stand around is a bad attitude, you made a statement that essentially promises to treat people badly regardless of the reason for their behavior. Don't try to dodge the meaning and implication of what you originally wrote.
Drop CS and add Rescue is the best compensation ever.
I can finally kill my party members.
