Rather than post about quitting on the forums, just try some VPN services, guys.

Mudfish and Battleping are two off the top of my head. I'm sure there are others that can help with this game. Just find one that lowers your ping.

Pingzapper is another good service.

Been using it forever to play FFXIV. Even though servers had been in Montreal and I live in the middle of the east coast, the game was literally unplayable due to ISP shenanigans.

You can use a VPN service directly from your router if you're on PS4

If I can subtract the price for the VPN from my subscription, or SE pays the VPN subscription for me, fine. Otherwise, no cookie.

Pingzapper, WTFast and every other VPN tunnel only really helps with routing and/or masking. The distance is still a thing. You might get a few ms due to a different routing or less hops, but if there is an ocean and a whole continent between you and your destination... that simply won't change.

I haven't tried the other services yet, but Pingzapper makes the difference between playable and unplayable on NIN for me, so however marginal the ping improvement is it's doing the trick. Without it, even Fuma Shuriken is clipping half the time, and forget about double weaving. Given how much cheaper it is I'll probably just go with that, I wasn't hot on WTFast requiring you to enter payment info ahead of time to even do a trial.

We'll see how bad this turns out to be. Might have to say bye to Balmung!
