[DEV REQUEST] An Anima glamour without a glow.

I got to hand it to you DEVs, I'm not a fan of glowing weapons. But damn son those Lux weapons are pretty sick looking...

I'm really excited to finish my PLD one to be honest. I run so heavy on the symbol of a phoenix in both the game and real life that a sword that burns with the fire of 1000 suns is nothing sort of spectacular.


That said I have a small request that upon looking at what is in the game already should be no trouble for you to add. Can we get a side quest, after unlocking a Lux weapon, that adds a still dyeable but non-glowing version of the Anima's final forms added to the Replica Seller? Sort of akin to when you added the Unfinished weapons to the Relic seller.


Nothing insane, maybe the old drunk Blacksmith wants you to fetch some stuff so he can make replicas of it to sell, since that is touched on early in the Anima quest anyway. The weapons are themselves beautiful without the glow as you can see when they are not drawn. I would really appreciate the option.


EDIT: ADDED AN ALTERNITIVE

As an alternative idea maybe a special quest given after the Lux that adds a public emote like /visor that is seen by all that enables and disables the glow?

Yea i wouldnt mind these. I actually liked the look of the Sandung weapons for ninja without the glow.

The glow is ruining most anima weapons for me, so I'd really appreciate this.

I always thought it would be kind of cool if the glow was based on the God/element you choose when creating your character. So one person's relic would have a fiery glow, but the next person could be icy, or lightning charged despite having the same weapon.

Anywho, I'm a fan of the glow when unsheathed. Not a fan of perpetually glowing weapons.

Seeing as I'm stuck with Sandungs, I'd actually kinda like a glow without the weapon >.>

Personally the sandungs are too bloody big... not just on lalafell either. there supposed to be daggers. the're bigger than some of the swords in the game...
glamoured mine into the 230 (hyper kannagi) much better looking weapon I think

but turning glows off has been requested a few times even back in the days of animus and novus weapons. maybe even before that.... still something i'd like to see

I prefer mine with glow, though I feel WHM got shafted on how the anima looks. Nowhere near as cool as the others imo.

Yes please. I like the look of a lot of the final weapons this time... and of course the moment that happens they right away make them have an obnoxious glow effect and not once allow you an non-glow version!

Intelligently, before this stage they made a default version of the weapon and then made its next step unlock the glow; why they didn't for this step is bafflingly - and annoyingly - unknown. And again, this is all after a majority of them are good designs... did you, SE, not think people would like to see the weapon (without being blinded) have a version WITHOUT a glow? It's an oddity in the usual way the relic unlocks go and is of course - and once again - baffling.

Once more - Please, oh please, allow a variant (or toggle) of these weapons without the glow to be obtainable.

I like the blue glow on the PLD anima, but the DRK glow is kind of senselessly overdone to the point where those glowing blades sticking out the side of the sword look like a Swiss army knife. DRK sword is one that would look great without a glow because of all the runes on it.

can't say no especially if their made like the pic examples u gave... more so if the "Runes" stayed that color (or the color the weapons glow was) no matter the dye that would look cool... still waiting on dyable transparent crystal bladed weapons were only the crystal-part is dyable (Shiva's were close but not transparant... & also Icicle shaped... & not dyable... Gorgis ones were also close)

Really? I hate the Sandungs model, they are so bulky. The only way I like them is dyed pure black so the glow swallows them up.

I like the glow on the AST lux weapon though I would like it without the shitty wings they added on the SCH lux

Then the Warrior lux would look a like a cheap axe you can buy from a vendor for 200gil...I would be all for changing the glow's color sure but without it they just look dull

and c'moooooon there are HUNDREDS of different swords you can glamour onto it if you dont like the glow, this just seems like a waste of resources/time

I'd love this. I like the simplicity of the SCH Anima Lux weapon, but the glow makes me feel like I'm trying to heal with Inspector Gadget's personal helicopter.

I don't see how it would waste resources since said resources are already completely in the game. Sheath your weapon.... see that? How its not glowing? That's it right there. Don't be such a negative nancy.

Absolute only reason i have blm Relic not glammed is because of the glow, otherwise i think it is rather meh.
Weapons themselves would be nice to have a glow adjustment slider of sorts

I suggested this a few years back so hopefully is practical enough to implement in game
