Secret Stormblood Screens from the P!

Greetings everyone!

Looks like Yoshi-P was still in the office until just a few hours ago testing out Stormblood and he created a thread and posted some interesting screenshots!

That spell and the one we saw in the benchmark, really looks BLM gained access to a whole new skill group - naughty BLM playing in the void pools again. Looks pretty cool though :D.

Also the Leyline, it uh.. it's different? Is it a consume leyline ability? I know they float above the ground and leave a shadow but unless the Lala is that short and the camera just right, pretty sure this is just a shadow leyline (or not related to that at all, but looks similar).

Thanks for sharing! Kugane looks gorgeous by night. That BLM spell really intrigues me as well.

Looks like a different design to me from the existing Enochian... maybe that's something to do with the updated utility of Aetherial Manipulation? Maybe some kind of marker you can place down to have Aetherial Manipulation take you there? I'll be curious to see.

Enochian portal!? Drop a leyline, drop another, boss targets you - warp to your other leyline lol. Would be huge mobility boost, for those who plan ahead (unless someone is standing on your other leyline rofl). Like a Demonic Gateway, except for BLM only and it also makes your abilities better too :P

Totally meant to say Leylines there instead of Enochain, but yeah. I believe they mentioned once toying with the idea of improving Aetherial Manipulation by having it send you to your Leylines if you aren't targeting someone. I think I'd still just prefer Aetherial Manipulation to just shoot me forward the maximum current distance instead, but I'm not against being able to go right back to Leylines.

I want Samurai so bad ;w;

I hope we will be able to use any skill with group pose.

lol, I'm an old school programmer, I like the more explicit code;

v_sb_hype_level := v_sb_hype_level +1;

That could be fun but could you flash off the edge of arenas? lol. Would be funny if you used it accidentally against Osmos XD. WOOOSH and dead. It might become a bit too mobile but a return to position feature would be the perfect combination of leaving the leyline and coming back to it, say like 5 second timer before it goes on cooldown where if you cast it again you return to where you began.

Because a lot of mechanics place stuff under a lot of people the current teleport is sometimes a bit iffy since you have to see who is in the right spot and will likely not get into the wrong spot, so I definitely agree a change to that spell would be nice. I do recall that they did mention a return to leyline feature.

I suppose that helps when someone comes along and doesn't notice why you post or pre increment something. Can make some good times lol. Best bugs the ones that make you duck your head in shame when you found out what was wrong XD. I probably should have wrote ++v_SB_hype_level because there was no reason to post increment it but whatever lol.

Spell Focus, a Black Mage spell that makes your next spell do a lot more damage. Of course everything is a guess till they tell us but I thought it was fairly compelling, similar-ish effect design, Black Mage spell, would fit into Black Mage acceptably, solves the whole "looks like a messed up shadow leyline" lol, and also would make sense why it is cast in town (self cast, not a target ability).

That's a pretty good catch. Wouldn't be surprised if it -was- spell focus now.

Because Roegadyn aren't inherently evil like Lalafell are? And Black Mage comes off as an evil-ish class because of all the Mhach luggage attached to it?

Honestly it's just over one month before the expansion. I wish we'd be getting more and better information besides some screenshots, one of which has zero context.

15 more days and we'll learn more about the combat system changes, I believe. At least, I've read somewhere we were getting something on May 20th. Personally, I'm looking forward to it, and having it to look forward to helps temper my hype for the expansion launch itself.

Yeah, it was said in the last live letter. I'm looking forward to it since I'm curious about what they'll do with my favorite jobs, since they're all in a bad shape now.

Lalafells have some great evil moments lol. But iirc Yoshida picks Lalafell because they're smaller and he is really big into PvP advantages like that. Lower priority target, vs the obvious hulk next to him doing less damage.

They did, but I think they changed it into a D, because A/B/C Prime might confuse players, but something different will not. I would not be suprised to see D/E/F instead of A/B/C Prime.

I'm curious what the rationale is for saying that Lalafell is the master race. They're the tiniest race and I can't see any glamour on them most of the time I just ignore them since they're so small. Hardly fit for a master race to be ignored by taller people.

I liked the flying areas of HW but it is interesting to be back on the land again, it's giving me a bit of that scale feeling we had in 1.0 - it lead to a lot of really nice screenshots but of course had other issues. With flying to ease out of those secondary issues it will be fun to explore it on foot at first.

There is probably a screenshot of it but I'm drawing a solid blank right now, can we see people underwater when we're above and furtheraway from it? That'll be something else up on the cliff and see someone in the sea below.

Also, land, sky, sea . . . Moon? :D

Cause YoshiP has always been a lalafell, and you need a Cure for that Hyur.

It just happens to be Lalafell Dunesfolk stats are the most optimal Black Mage race in the game. It doesn't make a big difference though.
