The Quick Question & Answer Thread

Greetings, my fellow Eorzeans!

Since Stormblood is just around the corner (and I want to commemorate my 500th post), there will be a ton of questions regarding new gameplay elements, zones, features and so on.
Imagine ten players asking the same question in ten different threads. For every major feature. We already know people tend not to read ingame text as attentively as they should, so I created this thread with the hope that people will ask their questions here instead.

Please note that this is not the right place to ask about and / or discuss Lore, Tanks, DPS or Healers.

Questions that do not warrant their own thread such as

"Where do I unlock Red Mage?" or "How to unlock flying in Stormblood?"

are allowed, whereas lengthy discussions about things like

"What is the best level 70 rotation for Samurai?"

should stay in their respective forums.
Naturally, your questions do not have to be about Stormblood.


What do you guys think? Is a thread like this a good idea? If not, just let it vanish into obscurity.

My friend wholeheartedly agrees with you.

I kinda prefer many smaller threads, for the ease of searching. I have the default set to the maximum number of posts per page, and it's really annoying to be searching on google, find a megathread.. then I have to go searching page by page because the google page number doesn't match my forums setting. Plus, I bet the people who'd make a new thread to ask something already answers would do the same even if a general Q&A thread existed.

..but hey, maybe people will find it useful. Making it a month early seems kinda silly.

I've seen this type of thread in other forums before and it worked out just fine. This thread is for simple, personal and quick questions, not for posting guides / answers that everyone can see all the time. Also, it's pretty easy to find one's own question under "Find all posts" in the profile.

Why one month early? People are still asking things like "can I use A1S to farm light even though I never raided" and I want this to become a place for such questions.

Well, now I need to ask something:

When will Skyrior run out of ideas for troll threads?

Skyrior's threads are like Saturday Night Live skits. Most are crap. Some turn out to be pretty good, regardless of the initial troll premise. Almost all go on way too long after the humor has run its course. They are something to look at when there isn't really much else going on (waiting for SB).

If Tanks should DPS (and we should), then is it unreasonable to expect DPS to help us tank? I mean most DRG's I've run with have no problem helping me with the floor while I tank. Can I ask the other DPS to step up and help too please?
