MCH Hopes (Based on the Benchmark)

Looking at the size of the MCH's weapon and the fact that he's using 2 hands as he uses the flamethrower, I'm wondering if we may possibly get some 2 handed firearm designs? Even if not full on rifles, perhaps attachments (even if just part of weaponskills)?

I was already excited, but the prospect of more advanced, possible two-handed firearm/rifle designs has me even more excited. Even if not two-handed, I'm still pretty hyped with what I've seen so far.

I hope they change the battle pose! o_O
Its the only reason why I play mch at lowest chance! (I dont have main classes. I like to all kinds)

I mean: In real life: no1 ever would hold a gun or even a rifle with just 1 hand lol. You need both hands for many reasons!
One of them is to aim at the target!

The battle pose isn't so bad compared to running. Our weapon bearing arm is just WAY too stiff in relation to our movement.

They really need to add two-handed weapons, or at least change / give the option for two-handed animations (both in battle and out). Also, give us more idle poses.

Yeah your legs don't move when you use abilities either, unless the ability in question moves the whole body. It's the same with BRDs, but not as bad as MCH.

If they give MCHs 2-handed rifles I also hope we can get a Full Metal Jacket Emote.

Perhaps my dream of a knifelock (see my sig) with the blade pointed the right way and a rifle stock may become a reality!

that flamethrower is likely just the animation for the new ability, similar to how you pull out a wrench when using dismantle.

3 stances would be fun

1. the one we have now
2. two hand rifle
3. dual gun like merlwyb

We'll see...they just need to be more fun for many and not just for the few. When designing classes they shouldn't be thinking about making them complex or not. They should be thinking how unique can they be while still being fun. Designing a class to be "complex" as the first requirement is not a good thing. When I say complex, I mean how hard it is to understand and to actually be really good with them. And before someone gives a detailed thing about how to play mch, it's my main dps and I'm always first or second in enmity in my parties with it.

So we'll see, at least the frlamthrower skill is going in the fun direction.

I'm still hoping we gradually turn into DFO Launchers. Just keep getting bigger and bigger guns.

It looked like it might be an oGCD where they whip out a FlameThrower and fire it for a sec before putting it away and pulling their normal weapon out. Think of it like Edgar's "Tools" from FF6 (Edgar was a Machinist after all). Maybe MCH will get other "Tools" as oGCDs: Chainsaw, Drill, Bioblaster, etc..

Not really care about poses, animations or anything related, MCH is actually a well-done job when it comes to actual rotation and overall thinking, still its DPS depends too much from DRGs (same goes for BRDs) and hope they'll make metas fixable with players' skill (but they're going the other way, making it easier for everyone with a new flat system). Big problem is I see no dev. team effort for anything related to raids and actual gameplay (the whole game should be planned around them), but only cheap dressing-up / glamour contents which is extremely disturbing for those used to play MMORPGs, RPGs and J-RPGs around. Just sad a J-RPG master such Matsuno workin' on a 24-man casual raid alone, but it's already something I suppose.

A bit off topic but..

In mmo you depend on other people so things need to be a bit less challenging so that they can be fun and not frustrating
In regular FF you don't so things being difficult is actually fun

FFXIV devs are the best ones in current mmo field. Other mmo devs follow your philosophy about making things challenging and end up going f2p (f2p = death of that mmo).

Can't agree with that.
MMORPGs are basically dead imho today, the only way FFXIV survives is glamour (servers been literally empty for weeks since few months ago now) and the dressing-up feature the game is too focused on. So calling FFXIV devs the best ones because they sell glamour to make money cause we have no new or interesting contents is ways too much. Been playing FFXI since its NA release in 2003 (and I am from EU, I assure you making a NA account ready while living in EU at its time was harder than any FFXIV raid out there today), that game (and same goes for the original WoW team) had the greatest MMORPG dev team of all time with immense expansions giving you months - or even years of playtime with no catch-up patches and everything being fair and hard when it comes to gear especially. A great MMORPG is your second life, where dedication, skill, design and OST comes together and gives you memories you'll collect and bring with you forever. FFXIV, the way it is now since ARR, runs around comic micro-events, glamours and tons of old FF references with literally no innovation. Tomestone system is actually the worst point / gearing up system in MMO world where you need to repeat the same old contents in order to get cheap gear everyone has access to. And I don't even want to talk about the relic system which is literally a joke, on FFXI it required the highest amount of gil, a couple of years of various farm and clearing the strongest Dynamis bosses in game. But man, you had the fucking strongest weapon in game 10-15 people a server only obtained.

Just untoggle Gauss, bro

I don't mind the casts, I do want the actual graphic to go. Change it to Gauss Stance/Gauss Mode, get rid of the hideous contraption that either looks weird attached to the weapon, or freefloats and still looks weird.

As for the comments on glamour over battle, I'm gonna say that's just your opinion, and there IS the live letter later this month all about the job/role shared actions and battle system changes - something they've been so deeply working on they've waited til now to even speak on it. I'm not expecting perfection, but the overall idea is improvement, and that's all I'd personally like to see.
