yoshida getting hes new excuse's ready ic
That was so confusing to read...
Basically, one mode is for pro-1080p, the other is pro-60FPS.
I think they're gonna go for like 2k or possibly even 4k resolution at the cost of your frames or 1080p at 60 fps, which the PS4 pro's hardware is capable of doing easily enough
I don't know why they can't do 4k@60FPS (or higher for that matter).
Oh, you can, just kill the lighting, particle effects and texture resolutions and you can do it. It's mostly a matter of GPU cores. That said, for most preple unless they do a pixel by freeze frame, close range pixel comparison, 1440p checkboard rendering and scaled to 4K is indistinguishable from 4K in motion from a normal viewing distance. So, instead of gimping your framerate by targeting pointless resolution, why not compromised slightly and get better frames?
Doubt it all you like. This isn't the same discussion as it was when full HD replaced standard Def. The difference betweeh 1080p and 4K starts to get into the area where optically it's harder to tell the difference.
If you sit closer than normal viewing distance (which varies depending on screen size) you can see the difference, but you have to turn your head to see both sides of the screen. Optically, it's simple math to demonstrate that people with ordinary vision sitting an appropriate viewing distance from the screen cannot fully discern the full resolution of 4K screens. If you are closer, you can tell more, and large screens from close range make it easy, but you wouldn't view from that distance, so it's kind of a pointless comparison.
It is exactly how many studios have patched games Tomb Raider and even ESO. You have the option of better graphics with slightly lower framerate or higher framerate but not as good graphically.
I will be testing both out and decide, perhaps use the higher res mode when i want to take screenshots and stuff, haha
