Thanks for the info. I don't know anything about the differences between the 9 and 11 versions except that the game seems to run better on 9. It may change in Stormblood so I'll try both again.

Here are my results with maximum settings, for maximum pain. I'm surprised it's considered playable because the frame rates were absolutely terrible.

This actually fared a lot better than I was hoping, considering the framerate problems I've been having with DX11 in Heavensward lately. I was legitimately worried I wouldn't be able to play through Stormblood, but it looks like Old Betsy's gonna carry me through at least one more expansion (unless something else dies).

All indications I'm seeing suggest that they're dropping DirectX 9 support in Stormblood, so you'll have to do DirectX 11. It does seem they've optimized it a bit since Heavensward, though.

The game got heavier that's what I noticed. I also noticed some crazy FPS dips down to 45 FPS in some scenes.
This never happened with the HW benchmark. Noticed more CPU usage and more GPU usage (I also ran the benchmark capped to 60 FPS as well to simulate my real usage as I play with capped frames)
I'm perfectly fine though an upgrade is coming this year to my Desktop.

Seems like processor is making a big difference. Do borderless window and full screen modes also have a big difference in frame rate?
