New race idea

We need a cute smol kitsune race.

Less races with animal ears please.
Shirtless catboys are bad enough.

Basically you will have trouble creating a race that is neither human or animal, you will always end with a concept fitting in the first or later category. Maybe a plant one but I don't see it fitting in the lore of Hydaelyn.

We dont need more cute. Smaller races i can agree on. Stocky, small and strong. So heres a lil' concept i conjured up out of nothing.

Introducing the Dorf (name work in progress)

Ilsabardian mountaindwellers expelled by a recent garlean "purification" forcing them to move to eorzea and recently liberated othard, although a select few has been wandering the realm for generations.
subraces, Highkin and lowkin.

Highkin, coming from the peaks of the southern mountainrange of Ilsabard this tribe have heavily tanned skin and tradtional body tattoos.
Lowkin, coming from the crags and canyons beneath the tall mountains this tribe has very light skin due to constant shadow and white iris-less eyes suited for a life in darkness.

I just want more options for miqo'te, like ear options. I want bigger ears facing upwards, flipped ears.

Yeah it would be better to add more default customization to existing races, rather than make a whole new one imo.

I personally rather a new race than more features for existing races.

I'm actually hoping they don't add any more races at all, we have plenty. More customisations I can completely get behind.

I would love an option to remove the tail on Au Ra.

SE should just say F*ck it and add a Beast race as a playable one. The wolf one looked pretty badass, I wouldnt mind playing that, aslong as females get equal badass look and not another anime moe schoolgirl type. Another option would be to finaly add the Viera and not some moe version, but the Ivalice one.

I think it'd look odd, but eh - why not. I'd like to have more control over scales, for example I'd like to remove scales completely from neck/head. :p

As a proud member of the Lalafell community, I think it would be beneficial to include another vertically challenged, yet extraordinarily gifted people in the land of Eorzea :^)

Heh, that would be cute. :3 I love foxes. ^_^ I keep trying to convince everyone my Miquot'e is a fox girl, but people are like nope... cat girl, and I'm like ugh. ( Not fond of cats.) It would also kinda match the new asian theme of Doma in Stormblood. :3

If only Miqo'te would have that type of tail option(s); long, fluffy tails. I'd be very happy if I'd get some nice long hairstyle (and fox tail to go with it).

Greatly upgrading the character customisation system would be wonderful, I too would prefer this over a new race ^^

Dunesfolks can have white irisless eyes (or really close to white). Can be creepy looking :D

As far as customizations for existing races it would be nice if they added something that gave a damaged/broken horn look for aur ra or a missing ear or cut tail for those that want their character to look like they have actually been through a war/ slaying primals

dwarves have been around in folktale/folklore for a LONG time :P so let there be dwarves :D mainly becuse i would love to see people get confused between a lala and a dwarf if the beard was coverd up

Can we just have a Skeleton race? No skin, no eyes, just walking bone corpses, I would play that in a heartbeat, bonus points walking around with an afro.

That or a race that isn't a Hyur with cat ears/scales/tail. I would be all for Burmecian from FFIX.

I would love to have more customization to existing races as well. More tail and ears types and for gods sake let us choose the horns with the face we want for Au Ra. Though, I would love another small race.

We don't need new playable races. Not anytime soon, at least. What we need is for the existing playable races to be given expanded options for character customisation. Not only will this result in a great number of players being appeased it'll also serve as an excellent chance to fix some of the problems that exist such as Highlander men being unable to have proper eyebrows and Au Ra of both genders being unable to choose a different horn style regardless of the base face that they pick.

Technically Lalafells are the dwarf race of this game anyway, don't need another just to add a large beard and maybe bigger build.

Personally I'd agree with the beast race classes being an option. Probably go as far as to say let us equip armor but just doesn't change our outer appearance? I dunno, they have all the assets for it, or at least a good amount. Sure someone would play em. :S

I don't mean in a literal race sense, I mean in the way they're the short race... Since that's what Dwarfs originally were in myth. Shorter than average people (usually miners and blacksmiths). The whole beard thing and being rather big built didn't come until much later. We already have a Dwarf race because of Lalafells size.

Edit: Point being, the version of Dwarfs that Tolkien made popular would be better off as customisation for Lalafells.
