Suggestion for game: Player-made quests/events

It'd be interesting to have some in-game assets to create our own mini quests/events, such as puzzles or other events where multiple can apply to join. The toolkit could consist of building blocks like creating interaction nodes, waypoints to stand, places to type key phrases, and time limits. Imagine creating an escape room-style event in the Hinterlands!

Active events could be visible only to invited participants. It'd be neat to create these events in existing world maps; a reserved instance area might be an alternative.

The advantage of this type of activity compared to the existing event system is that it is automated to deal with larger numbers of people so hosts can ensure a fair, fun, and smooth event for all participants.

I believe this type of system would open up larger and more frequent events to smaller groups and could keep players of all levels interested in playing the game. I think we could see some really fun creations from the community with this feature.

That's pretty much what role-playing is for.

Maybe something like Moblin Maze Mongers from XI? Not dungeons only, but other things added to it.

Not sure if they could give us the ingredients to make an actually fun quest, when none of the quests they made themselves were fun.

Anything you'd be able to make would be a fetch or kill and collect quest, maybe soothing animals with that damn emote...

If I understood the idea it's like the quest maker of Neverwinter Online... Not a bad idea at all! There are lots of people playing games that enjoy making their own content to share, this idea could work for those who want to create and play alike. It could also mean to have more things to do to the whole playerbase.

I would be interested in playing other people's quest if they had an interesting story to them. Like witcher 3. Given how creative a lot of fans are they could be fantastic. I don't think that would ever happen though as there'd be the question of vetting the content to make sure it is inoffensive and doesn't have mature content. A lot of user made stories would probably be very lore breaking.
I think I would make a "Real Housewives of Bloodshore" questline!

I'd love to create something to help a beast tribe, similar to how we did for the Mog Menders.

I agree with this. It would be an awesome idea for a contest.

We should stop suggesting things from other games that didn't work at all or we should go back playing these games if we like it sooo much. We can't just add everything to FFXIV and hope for the best, not to mention most of the stuff that people want implemented wouldn't even fit with the story or even in the theme.

What didn't work about the suggested systems? Some built in abilities to let players fill in the content gaps could be fun. :)

I think If we had the option to create customized dungeons/events then the development team would be able to make more refined official content. Imagine someone creates a custom event that starts out like the Grand Melee, but half way through the final 1v1 with Raubahn, he retreats into a cave, we follow in and we must fight him and the Warriors of Darkness. Of course things would be changed around text wise and victory/defeated conditions could be altered. But I think it would be a great time killer, think Yoshis raids are to easy? Try the community raid where Twin does DBs and Earthshakers at the same time, followed up by Akh Morn and Hell Wind!
