NA/English Server with high population?

I started back up on Gysahl but haven't found many NA players, I was wondering if it's because the time I was on, or if there aren't actually many NA players. Any suggestions on a new server?

Lindblum, Besaid, Cornelia

Besaid is a great server with a high NA population.

I think I might start back up on Besaid, if not there, Lindblum would be my second choice.

we have a nice large population, and almost all the shells are more on the helpful side and not too dickish

I made an alternate a while back to play on Besaid, and I will say this.

The general population is a lot nicer than Lindblum lol very helpful.

I'll have to agree here. I mean the Lindblum folks aren't raging assholes or anything but they just kinda keep quiet to themselves and their linkshells I suppose.

I'm on Lindblum. Its highly populated at all hours in my opinion.

It seems that whilst Lindblum players are not as helpful as those on other servers, a vast majority of Lindblum are hardcore players (a lot of Former FFXI fans), and with the right LS, clearing dungeons or getting a hand was never a challenge.

Besaid population isn;t bad but it's not that high as people claim. You will find some people to party.. but it will take you 30-40 min.

thats the norm for all the high pop servers depending on what your doing and what time of day it is though

mysidia is good. this thread is hilarious cause a new player a couple weeks ago signed up on that server(geisha) and i told them id switch cause i heard it was a dead server ad 2 people raged on how it was so active.lol.i hope they read this.


ill ad that i play 7-12pm est and thats when my shell is most active.

Last I checked Mysidia was still a 3 chocobo server but it is a mix of NA/JP/and EU great people as well for the most part (always the exceptional dbag on any server) I suggest making a character on multiple servers to test the waters.

Mysidia has a good population. Lots of JP though.

at one time mysidia was the official unofficial french server too. not sure about now

Is Cornelia more populated than Besaid? Gysahl was suppose to be a 3 chocobo server but I don't see how that was correct.

I think that's more indicative of your LS than server pop. Fabul is one of the lowest pop servers and I regularly find 7 other people for a party within 10 minutes.

My brother just made a character on Lindblum and isn't sure if he likes it there. He has it in his mind that there are less NA players on it compared to Besaid.

does your brother got a good linkshell he's part of? Usually us NA players and linkshells know each other...

I'm not in LS. And I search for parties in Uldah. Most of the time I find the same people so the server isn't as packed as you wish it to be.

When XIV started, I remember reading a long time ago a lot of the hardcore elitist (and sometimes douchebag) communities were going to Lindblum. SomethingAwful, 4chan, Bluegartr, some community of griefers from WoW, etc. Lindblum at one point was the most heavily populated server, and I remember during the beta getting tons of RMT spam/shouts/tells in there. I don't know how it is how, but there may be remnants of those communities (after the sharp population drop during October) still there, so I think DeadRiser's statement kinda matches up with the impression I got while mucking about in Lindblum.

From what I've observed though, Besaid seems to have a very stable population. Not necessarily the highest, but a solid number of players you can count on for games.

That's why it takes a while to find a party. In my experience, most people find parties from within their LS first and only begin looking for groups outside their LS when that is not an option.

I have to agree with Molly, Linkshell peeps are more prone to helping you out even if they have to go out of the way to do so. Best of luck my friend!

I just really don't want to choose the "wrong" server and end up having to remake in a week or so. :(

This may be true, Lindblum has many German players because soon after release it was labled the inofficial German server, so many Germans went there.
But still, it has a high NA population, and in opposite to what some people have said here I never met any elitist NA players on Lindblum in all those months, no RMTs either.
People also are very nice and friendly and willing to help, but it's true that it's a very quiet server outside of Linkshells.
Quiet like in..not much talking.
But without any problems on finding parties for whatever you want to do:)

How is the market on Besaid? My brother just let me know he's been trying to sell shards in the marketward on Lindblum for a few hours and not a single one has been bought. He's had them sitting at the lowest price.

the shard market dropped out on every server, dont expect to find a good shard market regardless

I played on Besaid one month ago when I started the game. It seemed active @ NA/JP times. However, not many action when I am playing (EU timezone).

Then I switched to Cornelia 2 weeks ago. Much better around EU timezone, although not as high as NA/JP.

PS : getting an active LS on any server will makes things much easier.

Any suggestion on a surname for Asmeret? I'll start on Besaid once I pick one :/, just can't think of one I actually like.

I know several people that just used their first name and spelled it backwards. >.<

Imo Besaid has pretty considerable EU population as well. I have two EU shells that are very active.
