Apparently there also ads during NXT takeover, which is currently airing on the WWE network.

Well, that's a pretty odd choice. I'm not entirely unconvinced that it's not some sort of trick given that it was April Fool's up until a little while ago. Yet at the same time after the Yo-Kai and Garo crossover events it doesn't seem completely out of the question.

I have the WWE network up and they just showed ad promoting FFXIV.

See, thing is... I'm not a wrestling fan so I'd be inclined to make the same assumption, but I've noticed multiple people both here and reddit claiming that it was true because of things they're seeing aired on the WWE channel, that kind of makes me want to question whether it's real or not. So I followed the link and looked over the WWE twitter, then did a quick google and found nothing from WWE's end, but I did notice on the Wrestlemania twitter, just a short scroll down the page, there's a tweet with a video of a cheering crowd that shows that big Stormblood banner in the background. So that actually does exist.

l tend to think it's more of a big advertising campaign than a crossover event though. Which is still exciting! xD

Sabin confirmed as Wrestler Job npc teacher

For people who don't know, Xavier Woods is a big fan of FFXIV.
He is a member of The New Day, a WWE tag team.
The New Day are hosting Wrestlemania this year, so they will likely have a segment where they just come out to the ring to talk.
Last year at Wrestlemania The New Day came out of a giant box of cereal dressed like DBZ characters.


So I would not be surprised to see them dressed like Samurai/Red Mages. Although I think Xavier plays a bard, so maybe he'll dress like that instead.

I hate the WWE and pro wrestling in general. That said the 7 year old boy from the 80's would kill for an André the Giant or Macho Man glamour.

I have seen a macho man savage player standing around in Limsa before on my server. I am sure he will be pleased with this.

Assuming it's real, at most it will probably just be a paid advertisement during Wrestlemania, I don't see it as that big a deal. I mean WoW paid for super bowl commercials right? I don't see the big deal with SE paying to advertise during Wrestlemania.

Either real or fake, all I can see now is Yoshida competing in the main event O.O, so can see it now. Yoshida comes out dressed in a Titan wrestler outfit and screaming "WEIGHT OF THE LAND" while jumping off the turnbuckle.

Hmm, I haven't watched wrestling since all my favorite wrestlers are either dead or retired, but this might make it interesting.

Well I highly doubt WWE could take the time to pull a april fools joke on XIV unless SE paid them to do so which I don't see SE going to through lengths just for a joke. Cause WWE was promoting XIV during NXT takeover last night. Cause I also don't think it a paid spot cause if really wanted to promote game to WWE fans it would been better to buy ad time for Wrestlemania (today 4/2) instead of yesterday during NXT.

It's real, they're showing a few trailers in the pre-show for FFXIV. They said they'd show an exclusive stormblood trailer, then all they did was show stuff from 2.0 and HW.

BTW Cody Rhodes outfit had Triforces on his boots. He said he always replays LoZ every year (Forgot which game exactly). So Video games and WWE aren't a new thing. I think one of those guys even has their own gaming channel on the youtubes.
