Tanking the floor riddle solved

As someone who prefers a clean user interface, I would like there to be an option to be able to move the "middle of the screen notifications" into the chat log.

Here is an example of the notifications with which I am referring to.

Can't say I've ever had that be a distraction.
And it'll only ever display 4 or 5 lines simultaneously, of which doesn't even happen during this instance under normal conditions.

What I'm trying to say is the people tanking the floor need to get good.
If your familiar with my posts as you claim, I suggest reading between the lines. I try not to be too blunt about things, as that's just rude!

Rarely in a party that countsdown every fight. In the middle of a boss only a handful of messages even appear and only for a few seconds. I can't imagine that would cause someone to die, if that causes such a distraction I would guess they might ignore the aoe anyways.

Can always move or shrink it to less distracting place.

The only thing that used to distract me about those notifications is the boss room labeling. I thought the game was notifying me about some other room.

Also, all these notifications happen before and after the fight (usually). If the player take the time to stop dodging the obvious telegraphed attacks just to read them, I have no idea what to say to these players.

You cannot move or shrink this. I very much would like that to be an option.

So... you're saying getting a notification at the start of a fight (for example) is throwing someone off so much that they cant concentrate for the next 3-5 minutes and die constantly during the fight...?

Skimming your list I cant really agree with you that those are all needless:
- some are giving hints to certain mechanics (The air in the room grows thick; Sawthoot feeds; 4 enemies approach)
- asking for you to cast your loot is important if someone wants a piece and another person holds of their loot-cast and its even in your own intrest to be told to cast your loot when you're in content with a weekly lockout
- since bossrooms lock its not "needless" to tell you how much time you've left to get your ass in there - it also serves as indication that the boss has been pulled.
- informing you about new members and the bonus that added to that lets everyone know that explantions might be needed (mind you - we asked for this feature)
- "Battle commencing in 15 seconds!" - is this whole part a countdown set by a partymember? I'm sorry, my client is german so I dont know what the english version says - if so: Again, we asked for this feature and its a helpful tool of communication to make sure a battle starts in a more or less organised manner and people have their buffs etc. ready in time.

So what might be considered useless by you doesnt seem so useless to me - and if that is such a huge distraction for someone to die constantly they might have other issues...
What I'm trying to say is: Some notifications are actually important enough to place them in the middle of the screen to avoid claims like "I didnt know we would engage the fight!" and hints about mechanics are useful... I have trouble to imagine a person that is distracted by a line on their screen being able to pay attention to a subtle hint in their enviroment that they should do something specific (aka: stand on this platform when it sparkles - if you're not able to pay attention to the fight because of a line on a screen I doubt you'll be able to pay attention to a detail like that)

TLDR.: No, dont remove messages in the middle of the screen as long as they serve a purpose.
(And as I tried to point out - a lot of them do)

Nope not saying that at all what so ever.

I'm saying I like a clean user interface, and I would love the option to turn it off, or move it.

This is unfortunate for you to say this.

I personally believe having options, allows each player, as there are many, to adjust the game to their liking. As there are a large array of different types of players who play the game.

To me, options are a great thing.

Seeing how good people in this game are at reading and how cluttered a chatlog can be (specially in raids like VA, which you used as an example) there simply are certain things that I dont mind the game shoving into everyones face because its important for everyone to know that the battle will start in 5 seconds so they can get ready (just using this as one example).

I consider "immersion" a really shallow excuse in this context anyways and value the function and the purpose of those messages higher than immersion. And I'm certainly not to eager to run into people being so immerged into the game by having turned the messages off that they fail to pay attention to the things those lines are telling them.

Just turn the entire hud off for total immersion.

I have all these notifications in a separate chat window that I moved completely out of the way and therefore I don't see these posts anymore. I added another just for loot, not that I ever bother looking at it, but just in case I need too, there's my option without having to scroll throughout 103 chat/system messages. I don't have "warnings" or "announcements" in the middle of the screen either, can change that in your hud/ui settings, but I would support a little window that tells new people there's a chance of customizing it. I won't support having that fully removed by SE since you have the option to do that yourself.

I don't get the joke, not a good enough connection there
