4.0 raid series speculation *Patch 3.56 spoilers inside*

Ok now that Shinryu has been revealed I feel it is time to speculate about the 4.0 raid series.

I'm guessing that the 4.0 raid series "Interdimensional Rift" will have have Omega as the boss of IR4, Shinryu as the boss of IR8 and either Enou or Exdeath will be the IR12 boss.

Either that or Shinryu will be IR11 and Omega will be IR12, similar to Phoenix and Bahamut. and Ark and Alexander.

Omega would be the last boss of Stormblood as Bahamut and Alexander were for their raid serie.
For me Shinryu will be the final boss of 4.0.

I see Shinryu being the last boss of 4.0 personally.

what if we defeat Omega in the raid and when we open the treasure chest............

There will be 2 raids :0, with Shinryu and Omega being the last bosses of their respective raids.

My guess is that Shinryu is going to be 4.0's Nidhogg.

They already said that omega will be the raid, but to be precise they also said it'll be into the interdimensional rift, so it is possible we might see the demons from FF5 to make an appearancer (minus calofisteri because well she's crazy hair lady in WC)my jab at the treasure chest was more about how shinryu was fought in FF5 (considering they did the same with xande's clone fight in WoD, it might also not be so odd) plus maybe omega might eat shinryu up and destroying the thing might idd release him in the world

It's possible that Omega sealed it away as a kami. So if anyone were to accidentally free it, like with Susano....

It would be cool if they had fun with it like this. Like have Omega raids take place in all the games in which Omega was originally a part of starting with 12, then 11, then 5 and finally back to 14. With 12 it could offer a segway as to how Ivalice opens up.

Can we call it O1-whatever instead of IR1-whatever? :(

No because I believe that Omega isn't the Final Boss of the Raid series. The way it is being presented is that the Omega is the first section Interdimensional Rift.

Maybe you called it G1-G4 but I think most will agree that 90% of everybody calls it A1-A12 lol.

Anyway.. seeing how Omega and Shinryu are Bahamut/Alexander-level enemies(Bahamut and Alexander are the last bosses of raids), I just can't see either of them being a simple O4 boss or a 4.0 boss. These are calamity level enemies.

I never heard G4, but I heard M4 a few times, like coil it could be interchangable, like BCOB T8 (SCOB T4).

Also, there has been no indication that omega will be the final boss of the first raid tier, if this raid is truly about him then he will be the final boss of the final raid tier, as was the case with the other two raids. Either a story boss or a new boss (ala. Twintania and Manipulator) will be the final boss of the other raid tiers

Please note that the first Raid is titled: "Interdimensional Rift - Omega" with "The Bend of Time" as a subtitle.

Most tend to focus on the Omega in the announcement but the title is set up as Interdimsional Rift - (Entity) (location subtitle).

With the reveal of Shinryu (one of the other major residents of the Rift) this is a perfect set up for the second section to be titled Interdimensional Rift - Shinryu (Dimension Castle).

Yep it is a interesting thing to notice and makes me wonder if the 3rd final Interdimensional Rift may be Exdeath as the final boss.

It would be a interesting means to have Gilgamesh become involved in the Interdimensional Rift storyline as his final send off from FF14 world and as a means to hint Exdeath as the final boss for the Interdimensional Rift.

So when omega appeared, and it looked exactly like it does in older FF games one thought came to mind:
What if (much like Gilgamesh) this omega is the same we encountered in the past FF games and this raid will make us travel to those words to take it down? You know, bending time, interdimensional travel

I actually thought this too. In FFV we find Omega in the interdimensional rift with no explanation as to what it is or how it got there. In XIV, we have an origin story of Omega, and an explanation as to how it ends up in the interdimensional rift (or at least we will), this may also be an origin story of Shinryu in the same way as well, though I have to question if a primal can actually travel dimensions as it is literally a manifestation of aether.

It is a nice idea, and a good deconstruction of the title. However I want to point out that originally the title was simply "Bend of Time - Omega" and not "Interdimensional Rift - Omega: Bend of Time", which leads me to believe that the entire raid series is called "Interdimensional Rift - Omega" and the first tier is called "Bend of Time", and as you said, the next tier could be "Interdimensional Rift - Omega: Dimension Castle".

I don't support your theory for two reasons:

1) It is not very formulaic in the way they have (IMO, successfully) developed raids in the past. This isn't to say that they can't break trend (thought they don't often, because players hate change), but considering how Omega is a more powerful entity than both Bahamut and Alexander in the form that we fought them, it makes little sense to break formula.

2) Leading on from point one, in my own personal opinion, I would see relegating Omega to fight 4 in a 12 fight raid as a waste. As an entity he has been teased since 2.2 whereas Shinryu was only revealed this patch, and Exdeath is simply hyped up fantasy at this point. Of the three, Omega is arguably the most powerful, and has the most connection to those who are invested in the story.

I hope will get to fight ExDeath in the raid too!
Regarding Shinryu, he'll be 4.0's final boss or a special fight only those that will clear the omega raid will find.
you know .. yoshi said that they were working on something for the hardcore player base so .. what if that super difficult content was Shinryu itselft?

I think its pretty unlikely Shinryu will be a MSQ boss. Its a primal, not the actual mythical dragon that the Doman's named it after. Infact it's name is completely incidental. It might call itself Barry for all we know.

I think the Bend of Time will probably involve both Shinryu and Omega and somehow we will get stuck between the two.

We at the end may have references to FF characters, but not themselves. Just like FFXIV Kururu is a reference to FFV Kururu but has nothing to do with her, they said they didn't want to add character from other universe in FFXIV.
Cloud of Darkness is an exception 'cause it doesn't have a real personnality and is just a void sent. But characters like Exdeath are unlikely to appear

Plus Shinryu won't be MSQ boss. It's as powerful as Bahamut, and probably his size too. I dunno if you all went in the coil to have a look at Bahamut's pieces, but if we face Shinryu we're screwed.
I think the Omega raid is more likely to have both of them appear, like we take back the control of Omega to seal Shinryu for good.

I think it would be cool (but complicated) to have a PNJ ally who fight along with us during one turn. Papalymo could be this one if he is alive.

And another nod to V. The 11th boss has a survival phase and Gilgamesh shows up to Self Destruct before we can hurt it again.

Shinryu will probably be the final final boss (4.3) or something. The 4.0 final boss will probably be either that Legatus with the red katana or some other new primal (maybe Eden or Griever), like how KoTR was the final boss of 3.0 even though Nidhogg was forshadowed in 2.5.

Honestly? Having boss mechanics revolve around an NPC within a raid would be cool, we see glimpses in dungeons and solo instances (most noticably in the aery), but it would be cool to have an epic clash of the titans with a primal ally helping us fight a powerful foe like Shinryu or Omega (add phase happens as the two clash in the background).
