Who's Responsible for Coloring this Shield?

My character's edgy. He's an Au Ra edgelord, some may say. An evil Paladin, wearing deliciously evil black/red gear that matches his black/red hair beautifully. His sword, the Lionliege blade, perfectly accents his evilness. The Mighty Thunderhead Shield, when on his back, is a perfect black/red combination with the rest of his evil armor.

And then I unsheathe my sword/shield and IT ALL GOES TO HELL.

I now have sparks of blue lightning around my shield. BLUE! Everything else is black/red, and the shield is BLUE! It's beautiful when not held, and it's a fashion disaster when readied for combat. Who's idea was it to color a shield black/red that has BLUE lightning around it? That means that in order for your gear to match that shield, you need to have THREE different colors going on with your outfit. Black, blue, and red. Those colors do not look good together at all, I feel like the American Flag if it decided to become an emo.

"Pick a different shield." You say? HA! One that has unique particle effects and matches my color scheme when both on my back and taken out? Wishful thinking, pal.

I tried the Hive shield first, BUT GUESS WHAT? That one is the opposite! A bad ass red particle effect when taken out, but glows BLUE when on my back, clashing horribly with the rest of my gear.

Lionliege shield? NOPE. Black and mostly white when on my back, which also looks terrible with the rest of my colors.

The only other option I can consider is the High Alligan Shield, but all that damn thing does is light up a little bit, no awesome particle effects to be found.

LET ME CHANGE THE COLOR OF PARTICLE EFFECTS, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

You don't deserve a good looking shield. Evil Paladins are a mistake and I hope all their Soul crystals detonate

You know, if you wanted to be edgy, you'd just not use a shield at all. The garo shield, far as I recall, is an invisible model, you can glamour that. As a bonus, that makes shield bash just a wicked backhand.

Also if you wanna be really edgy go buy yourself a uraeus coat. Or four.

But the Garo shield's icon is BLUE!

Hey edgelord, how about the Kinna Shield? iirc it shares a model with the Thunderhead Shield, and glows red and black at all times.

Yeah the Kinna Shield should work. It's black and red on its own, and then glows back and red when drawn.

I feel like we need pictures to properly appreciate your dilemma and maximise the entertainment value.

Also if you like the Lionliege glamour, how about hiding weapons when sheathed? That's what I do to solve my worst fashion accidents. Then when you pull out your sword and manifest the shimmering red shield from the vortex created by your seething edginess, it will seem even more impressive.

Get the High Allagan Shield, dye it Jet Black. Get the Zurvanite shield. Get the Kinna shield. There's your Black/Red shield...

His problem is when it is drawn, not sheathed. He likes how the shield looks until he pulls it out and the lightning effect pops up. It's a purple glow with blue sparks as seen on all of the Ramuh weapons. Personally, I don't think it looks that bad with the black and red armor given that Ramuh weapons are red/purple/black and the energy appears very voidsent.

Is there any reason you don't want to just use the basic (non-Mighty) Thunderhead shield without the particle effect?

It was your choice to use that shield. They're not going to recolor a 2.0 Primal Glamour because the undercover DRK doesn't like it. Just use the invisible shield if you can't find anything you like?

The glow on it is beautiful. If they let you dye them then its not a Ramuh glamour IMO. It should be purple.

I suppose my only option here is to use the Kinna shield, so I shall begin grinding away at those Palace floors, as my father Lucifer will be sorely disappointed if I do not find a proper shield for the future Evil Paladin Army.

Shield looks cool to me, but it would be interesting if we ever got a dye enhanced system there would be an energy dye (if they add more dyes per item, I think GW2 has three dye locations per item, or you might expect in Warframe which is an entirely different kind of game lol).

Anyway, was expecting a Spartacus response due to the title XD.

Nidhogg one is black and ebil looking, the lore one is also dyeable and mainly black.

Other than the already suggested Kinna blade/shield, you could try the Horde shield/blade from Nidhogg:

If the weapon matched I think it would be fine. The Ramuh gear carries the red to coordinate with your gear and the purple particle effects carry a somewhat voidsent appearance which, in my opinion, suits the "evil" look.

But as I mentioned before, if you don't like the particle effect, then just use the basic Thunderhead (non-mighty version). You'll still have a little glow, but not the lightning and sparks.

He's no troll. Just very melodramatic with a hint of flamboyance.

If you don't mind not having particle effects, the Heavy Metal Greatshield is an odd duck. 99% of the shield is black, with gold trim...yet it's the trim that's dyable. XD ...so you can have a nasty looking black shield with red trim.

I like the Alexandrian Metal Buckler dyed Dalamud Red. Fits the whole edgy red / black outfit and looks great with almost any sword.
