The Griffin's speech on liberating Ala Mhigo.
Probably when we became fugitives. The quests revolving around going to Ishgard were brilliant. Second best would be the Warring Triad, and third would be scene of us getting drugged at the feast. That was hilarious, and quite the plot twist. Edit: I can't believe I forgot to say MOOGLES. The addition of the sky moogle tribe was a glorious addition to the amazing 3.0 beast tribe experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Personally? I was just so happy when we finally beat Cruise Chaser a second time and I no longer had to justify my bonus message to reps, since I missed our first clear >_>
The final showdown with Nidhogg.
diadem and proto ultima
Experiencing a raid-wide tank buster-like attack that is Holy Bleed.
Nothing beats your co-healer screaming in panic.
Y'shtola's naked scene.
That whole trip through Dravanian Forelands and Churning Mists with Ysayle, Estinien and Alphinaud. The interactions between the group were amongst my favorite storytelling moments of the entire game, perhaps only second to Tam-Tara Deepcroft HM. It felt true. It felt natural. Ysayle and Estinien having their own goals, ideals, intentions, and the way it made them interact with each other... I loved that.
The Thordan fight and it's Knight's of the Round sequence (starting from when Thordan places his sword into the ground until the screen shatter).
I'm so impressed that they turned the entire sequence into actual gameplay, it was so fun.
- Ravana (everything)
- Thordan Ex (and story)
- A3S
- Midas Savage
- Alisaie
Aymeric princes-carrying Estinien.
I must say Heavensward was incredible; it was one big emotional roller coaster and I never ugly cried over a video game before (you guys know what part I'm talking about T^T). However, I have to say my favorite moment in Heavensward is that dinner scene with Ser Aymeric; I was looking forward to that moment. I blame SE for creating such a beautiful character to make me fall in love with him lol.
I like your hat
Many did not like the Griffin fight but man. That was AWESOME. I really loved it. I wish so much that we could have a hardcore minstrel ballet of that or special dungeon or something that uped the ante a bit.
Another thing I really enjoyed was the change in music tone for dungeons starting 3.4 onward. Both passive and boss tunes.
Wanted to add this as well. MSQ spoiler obvious
The entire sequence from here to the end was fantastic.

Toss up between Final Steps, the fight with the Warriors of Darkness, or the fight with Raubahn. I loved all those fights.
I really enjoyed Hildi's questline finale. It was heartwarming and funny as usual.
I honestly can't choose. Every moment had a different impact and emotional response and were great in their own ways.
-Actually having travelling companions as we journeyed to meet with Hraesvelgr was wonderful, the interactions(optional especially) between them was wonderful.
-Haurchefant goes without saying.
-Duelling with Raubahn was AMAZINNNNG(I love his character so much and I was bouncing in my seat like a fanatical schoolgirl when he coyly greeted my character and commented that he hoped it would come down to that 1-on-1).
-Earning Hraesvelgr's "trust" was a sweet moment for me and the final showdown with Nidhogg was absolutely brilliant. The implementation of Dragonsong was beautifully done and the waiting zone very atmospheric, especially when you saw everyone else lining up to face him off like a true army making their last stand. I also was hoping for and inevitably ended up happy to see us return Hraesvelgr's eye once more, and that moment where you accompany him back to his home and there is just that subtle moment of appreciation and trust between him and you, I ate that all up.
That scene too, with Aymeric inviting you to dinner? That was really nice for a moment of easygoing fluff. Especially the attention to detail they gave regarding Aymeric's manservant. I loved how your character was unable to help but keep an eye on him as he tended to to tea. It was slowly watching the overall story become more and more interactive and engaging and I was very happy to see it all come together.
Ysayle Dangoulain's final charge into battle.
Warriors of Darkness, although their time was far too short.
I don't have a single moment that I like the most, so I'll put several of them:
- The times I fought alongside Haurchefant in the solo instances
- The times Haurchefant talked and gave me the courage to press on during tough times
- Beating Singularity Reactor and Final Steps of Faith for the first time
- Vidofnir saving the child in 3.1
- Seeing the beautiful Lucia
- Fighting the Warriors of Darkness in 3.4
- Clearing Sophia EX in 3.4 (it was the first Heavensward Extreme primal I cleared in the time period of its release/when it was really relevant)
SHIVA Vs. the Garlean Empire (Airship)
All this.. but also Ysayle's redemption is right up there as well. Originally during the 2.4 and 2.5 story she was depicted as nothing but a cold-hearted (no pun intended ;)) villainess wanting nothing more than Ishgard to be razed to the ground (and turning herself into a Primal to boot!). But throughout Heavensward showed that she was a far more complex, and deeply sympathetic, character, as she wrestled with remaining steadfast to her convictions even as the bitter reality of what the dragons did after she broke Ishgard's wards (namely, they slaughtered innocent men women and children) was a refreshing change of pace. And the journey to the Churning Mists, as she and Estinien warily began to at first tolerate and then accept one another was remarkable.
And her final noble sacrifice, riding on Hraesvelgar's back and, changing herself into Shiva one final time and facing down the flagship of the Garlean Empire was such a epic end to her story, her final moments as she dissolved into aether after freezing the Graiton's engines and marooning Varis and Regula on Azys Lla, thanking the Warrior of Light for believing in her and allowing her to redeem herself, just really hit me hard. In the end, she truly was a Warrior of Light in every way. *sniff*
Using my level 3 limit break for the first time as a tank in Alexander.
Everyones going to hate me for this but..
My favorite Heavensward moment was when Haurchefant died. HEAR ME OUT!
Because it made me realize that our characters cannot truly save everyone who's been good and honest people to us.
Like with Thancred and the unfortunate circumstances of his possession. There was a small window where we didn't know if we could save him or if we had to put him out of his misery.
As has been the case with many allies of both past and present. Including that of Estinien.
For me, my favorite Heavensward moment(s):
- Will stay the moment where we have a showdown with Regula van Hydrus on Azys Lla. I really found the moment very interesting and finally a guy who "knows our power/skills". All(or most of) our foes doesn't care about what we are or what we have as power but at the very beginning, Regula knew how we could be dangerous.
Plus I love his voice (in english), though I'll hate SE/Devs team for what they did with him.
- Loved also the Shiva vs Empire cutscene and how it was epic. ( Yet I wanted to hit my character for not helping but I guess we can't fly... )
- When Nidhogg accepted how our will are stronge and finally died. ( Even if I can't help but I still hate Ishgardians for what they did )
- Our ride on Hreasvelgr and next to him with Midgarsormr mount ( ending of Heavensward )
First time clearing Thordan Ex when it was new. The animation for the enrage had already gone off when someone's DoT ticked down and killed him in the literal final seconds. It was beautiful to see that duty complete message pop up.
Storywise, the Final Steps of Faith cutscene was awesome, and outside of trials, the grand alliance fight where we got to throw down against Raubahn was a really unique/fun story instance. The quest that sent us back to talk to the many NPCs we'd dealt with throughout Heavensward, including finding the flowers for Ysayle in Azys Lla really hit me hard too.
The story instance at ARF during the Warring Triad questline. The background music alone made it memorable and I'm super bummed I can't go back and redo it for fun.
My favorite part of Heavensward: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQiJnmtByjE
When I met Ser Aymeric. Shh I known that was in ARR >.>
Is the 30-50 DRk questline part of it ? Cause it was absolutely amazing.
When everyone died!
The moment when we realized the true nature of the heretics. It's really cool when you delve deeper into something.
The Singularity Reactor. The first time you go there that is, the music, the scenery, the exchange with him prior to the battle.
"If you believe your cause is righteous I call upon you to defend it with your life!" I loved all of it. Granted the fight was never that difficult even back then but the spectacle combined with everything that lead up to it? It will stick with me forever.
