House Skins

I have no idea if this has been brought to SE's attention, or if there's been a previous thread about this before (although I've checked): Will we ever be able to keep house skins?

They're very expensive to make and it would be nice if we were able to keep them if we wanted to swap them out for another skin and then be able to switch back to it if we so desired. I'm sure many of us have wanted to change our houses to something else but couldn't in fear of losing our fancy skins.
I.E.: Moogle skin, Paissa skin, Chocobo skin, Merchant skin etc.

This can pertain to basic skins as well.

I love this idea. I can only hope the move feature lets us keep the skin we have on our house, at the very least.

This was brought up in one of the recent live letters. If I recall they basically said it was an issue with the data it would take? Seemed like more of a non-interest response whatever it was. I'd very much like to see the skins tied to either the house or unlocked per character/fc as well as all light fixtures, wallpapers and flooring. Per character/fc would probably be better, especially if someone loses a house or moves/upgrades the house.

Definitely been asked in the past, and again, I fully agree with the suggestion :)

I will keep asking for it in the hopes that one day any issues with implementing may be resolved.

I really do think we should be able to save these house glamours and interchange at will without destruction. Their constant excuse of data storage limitations needs to be eliminated. (its not 1992 sheesh!) They should strive to make housing much more player friendly and enjoyable.

I relinquished/repurchased a house last night to convert a personal house into an FC and it would have been very nice to take the "skin" with it... :(

At least in my case it was only a small, but they're still a pain to build :(

Signal flaring this. You could even make the skins market prohibited/untradeable of course. Would really like to keep my moogle skin but be able to change to doma style in Stormblood.

Has this been addressed? with many people relocating to Shirogane or wanting Shirogane skins, I would like to know what SE's thoughts. Workshop created skins are very expensive and labor intensive (Moogle, Carbuncle, etc) and I would hate to see them completely destroyed by switching to the new skin. Now with house storage option, perhaps skins can be stored as well?

I'd like this, I remodeled the FC's yard today and REALLY want to change the skin we're using. Yet we're using the mercenaries skin which has to be made in the airship landing and which is pretty expensive. Likewise the skin I want to try to change to is over 3 million on my server right now if you make it from the mats alone and that's also far to expensive to waste time and money on if it turns out not to look to good. I'd really like being able to flip between the two if I dislike one but enjoy the other and do so as we remodel the house whenever the mood suits us. Actually it'd encourage us to spend /more/ money into the server economy because we'd be buying new things to fit the new aesthetics.

Partially. If you relocate your house (to any area) the skin goes with it. If your house changes size during this process the skin magically increases/decreases in size to match the new property.

It's still not possible to get the skin back out once you've placed it or to store it in the new storage area for reuse later etc.

I would love if they considered this ^^

I'm aware skins move when you relocate. However based on the mood or feeling or environment or whatever the reason, its such a waste that it is gone once you swap out skins. Right now, from what I'm hearing, you lose the skin by switching them out. This is why I'm inquiring again about allowing us to keep/switch skins instead of completely losing the skin we already have. It is not easy to make housing skins (especially on a large house) and since SE is adding additional/various housing skins, why not let us keep the skins we already created.
