Forum Features Updated - Removal Of [Video] Tag

As posted here, three updates were just performed on the forums. One of which was this:

Why was the video tag removed? I enjoyed the ability to embed videos in the forums.

This surprised me as well... I've not seen this feature abused at all on these forums.

Possibly when certain people were uploading videos of weird exploits... wrist flick etc...

We don't need the video tag. Just link it. Embedded videos are an eyesore and an annoyance.

I'd petition to get rid of the signatures or at least restrict the size and content further. Those large image ones are quite annoying so I just turned them all off in my settings.

What I would like, though, is to be able to upload our own avatar (we can upload our own signatures, but not our own avatar?)

Or maybe the video tag is coming back in Boards 2.0

Expect a letter from Boards Producer telling us silly worn out excuses for everything being late, and why we need to start paying before the Boards are relaunched.

This. Embedded videos just suck resources up. It's even worse if there are several videos on the same page... Just link it really.

I am convinced that you prefer to use these boards over the actual game.

I probably qualify as one of those people. But I think the process of the game's journey to recovery is more interesting than the game itself (at least for now).

Oh yeah, and [VIDEO] tags, you will be missed. :(

I'm really disappointed that the ability to post videos has been removed. That was a kind of sneaky way of delivering the news as well. I wonder how many more people would have been annoyed if they had said "It will no longer be possible to post videos on this forum" instead of "The [VIDEO] tag has been removed."

This seems like a very uptight move on Square Enix's part, and I'm not happy about it. At the very least, please give us an explanation as to why this was done.
