Can i turn off Fates?

I'd like to be able to turn them off cause at times in the middle of questing i have a fate drop on my head and add in several mobs to the fight i'm in so i end up having to leave the area and wait till its over and done with. Very Immersion breaking.

Sometimes when i wait for one to end it restarts right away and when i leave the area even without killing them i get a popup saying i failed it and that's really agitating.

I just wait a way to either shut them off or something or be excluded from them. Yes they are optional but they are kind of crammed into your face at every corner of your travel. And the area seems to have far to many fates it feels immersive breaking.

Nope no way to turn them off or make yourself excluded from them. If you out level the fate then you can ignore as you have to sync down to participate but if you are under the level or the correct you cannot avoid them.

You can always just clear the FATE and move on.

The game already excludes you from engaging other players' duty mobs. I don't see why the FATEs could not operate on the same principle. It would only take as much as having the "Level Sync" button change into a "Join FATE" if you already have another active duty in the zone.

How is it immersion breaking? It one of the few things that actually make the world active and feel some what alive

ya, usually npcs appear and theres a small story behind every fate, sometimes even with funny jokes etc

I agree. One minute you are just minding you're own business gathering in the open sun next minute you are in the middle of a fight between the mandragoras and yellow jackets. Then you see the yellow jackets are dead and realize that we live in a cruel world where it's survival of the fittest

That would be great to be able to turn off the FATE music.

I dont know how many seconds it takes you to clear a fate solo, but they're just wastes of time especially when you dont really need them.

I agree with this as well. Always feels good to kick some guy's ass who had one too many drinks and starts getting violent.

So much this, after grinding multiple atmas in ARR and crystals in HW, I would love to never hear the fate music again.

Doesn't work for a bunch of the beast tribe ones as they spawn again immediately after finishing ;_;

Would love the ability to not hear FATE music when I'm not taking part, it's not my favorite and almost all FATEs at some point will become non-threatening (like most monsters) so getting crazy wild music while you're a level 60 walking by level 5 squirrels is less than ideal, ruins the other wonderful music and experience that was going on.

I'm curious how it'd feel to be able to join/leave a FATE though (not just sync, but full on join/leave), because some monsters are clearly the aggressive type so they should logically aggro you if they're there.. Not sure I'd mind but just a thought, non-aggroing aggressive monsters may be a different type of immersion breaking.
