From Legacy to the Dev Team

It has been a long seven years since XIV was released to the world.
As many claim its disasters, and others sing its praises, one thing is undeniable - You have given us memories and years of laughs, tears and love that today you were recognized for in the record books.

As a legacy player, and a fan of XIV and it's many hard working Dev members that have come and gone, I believe everyone who has supported you in this arduous journey will join me in these feelings of being very grateful to you.

Thank you ever so much for being so dedicated to your amazing project and to us.

Too bad a good deal of legacy players that got them here aren't with the game anymore.

Legacy player myself, and I am quite pleased with all the love and attention the dev team puts into this game to make it great.

I remember when I first created my second character, a Miqo'te named Keiko Rosengarde, because the Nobuo Uematsu segment of the interview DVD that came with the game asked him which race he would pick and he said Miqo'te (female only at the time). I started her in Limsa since my main started in Gridania, and I remember squinting whenever I would leave the Drowning Wench because of that sunlight effect as the camera "adjusted" to the brighter light. Now she's become my main character.

Through the good and the challenging, Final Fantasy XIV is probably the first MMORPG I've stuck with for so long, and will certainly be a mainstay in my memory of gaming throughout my life.

My brother and myself used our teal names for the credits. Strange to think it's indirectly in the Guinness book of World Records(not really but meh).

I too have fond memories of Final Fantasy XIV.


Although they stem from 1.x to around 2.4.


The main story quests from 2.4+ are really good though, they are why I'm still around.

Keep up the good work Yoshi and crew and may the light ever shine your path.

I also wear my mark of the twelve and white Ravens with pride.

While I may be critical of some of the decisions they have made, make and will make in future, I respect the work that Yoshida and his team have done and the things they have accomplished.

See everyone in Ala Mhigo, Doma and wherever else they take us!

I may not always like every decision you make, but often you prove me wrong about disliking a new addition,
and even when you didnt, the game is in an amazing state that can soothe me even over the things I disike.

Especially as one of those who know where you started at and took the journey along with you,
it's amazing to see where we ended up so far and where we will be going in the future :D

I would like to thank the development teams, both the original team and the current team, for making a game that, despite its flaws, had such obvious potential beyond just the Final Fantasy name that it invoked the desire to see it succeed.

You are all amazing people and I am looking forward to seeing the story you have planned.

I did play XI 9yrs loved it, but my character name was Darkrikku on ifrit then I moved to Levi and Bismarck and changed my name to Ereskigal.

First MMO and game in history that went from economic flop to success.
In the process, we also experienced an unique "end of the world" story no other game has.

That's quite an achievement.

I am also a legacy player and also wanted to commend the whole devteam for all the great experiences I have had since July 7th 2011 when I made my account and ventured into Eorzea for the first time :D
I started on the Saronia server, which later became Sargatanas. Moved to Balmung on ARR launch, and moved again to Odin where I have been ever since and love it there ^^

When I saw Yoshida and his team came onboard to try save the current game, and heard their ideas for the future, I knew I would be a fool to miss out on the development.
And I was correct, as the End of the World event, is something I have not experienced in any MMORPG ever. XIV1.0 had its many flaws, but it had so much heart and soul too :)

Looking forward for many more years :)

PS. Any chance we can get the Miqo'tes Voice nr 1 from 1.0 back? PLEAAAASE it was the absolute best and I miss it greatly ;)

I have been here since march 2011...i have seen good and bad. I do miss version 1 but only the good things and there where a few.

I was at the end with some good people and those are memories i will always have. I wear my mark with pride.

Its nice to see some old names in here ^O^ we where all there at the end.

I hope the game continues on for a long time even if its not the game i had hoped i still think the end of V1 was amazing and i love the main story characters because they where there also.

I suggest players after 1.0 find vids of the CS and the game play from 1.0.

:\ Really wish I had bought FFXIV 1.0, especially since hindsight shows how much better it got onward. Unfortunately, 1.0 was one of those games I knew I wasn't going to like, being everything I had hated seeing in just FFXI alone. Cannot thank Yoshida and the rest of the team enough for saving FFXIV.
