Sudden Death

Apparently the feast match will not end in draw starting from patch 3.55 and instead a sudden death rule will start till 1st death.
Sometimes a person disconnects (often at start) and if there are people we know from discord we agree to adjust the score and to end in draw so the match ends fair.
What are we supposed to do in these situations with a new anti-draw rule?

Well, you'll have to have someone die...

Sudden death is likely just a "Culling Time" that starts at the 8 minute mark in the event of a draw.

I hope they add a /votedraw (6/8 vote to draw) option. That would really kill wintraders in soloq. It would also embrace good sportsmanship. I've drew plenty of times when someone DC's right away... Sucks we won't be able to anymore.

How does draw work in ranked currently? In unranked it counts for both teams as a "loss" (adds to matches played but not victories, resulting in a de facto loss for both teams), but since there's no rating in 8v8 can someone explain to me how draws work in regards to rank? Does your rank simply remain neutral? What is the aim of this anti-draw change?

In ranked if both teams Draw then no one loses ranking, it treats it as if the match had never happened.

Nobody likes draws because it only lowers win rate without actually losing.

Says who? Draws are a common thing in games and happen pretty frequently in high level matches. It's a sign that the teams were equally matched.

Now people will just hold burst for sudden death and someone will get cheesed with unhealable damage or like a 12k melee LB.

It only means both teams can't count medals and focused the wrong target for the last kill, unless they all were with equal number of medals which I doubt. If one team has 375 medals and kills 50 medals player last minute for the final 400/400 then they did it wrong.

That's not entirely true. In high level matches, it's not as simple as killing whoever will give you favorable medals. A lot of times you need to take out the healer regardless of their medal count, or take out the melee so they can't LB. Many times the losing team will get a kill which brings the score back to even. They killed the correct player, and now they're tied instead of having lost.

Sudden Death should turn it into no more reviving. Last team standing.

Old Fold rules. . . I can go with that. Otherwise, it'd just be a healer/ranged zerg at the end.
