DOUBLE INVENTORY IN HOUSING YES YES YES YES YE SYES YESYEAAAH
I'm dying of happiness. T^T
AND DOMAN HOUSING AREA!
I'm going to sit at the gates until they open up and then I'm making a mad dash for the first class mansion plot.
Your small house will be able to have 200 items, yes. I'm not sure about the garden, but I wouldn't expect them to double the limit outside but then again I wasn't expecting to get a doubled item limit at all so anything is possible! But for a mansion that would be 80 items on the exterior, thats a lot of items to load per ward, even with the dropping of PS3 support I don't see that happening.
And I would assume that the new ward will have apartments, I don't think they will release any new wards without the apartments now that they have been implemented.
Not going to lie, I'm worried about the item culling bug with the increased item limits. Fingers crossed that they address that issue before the release.
Cue the choir of angels!
Can we get some lalas in here, dressed as cherubs? Come on, guys, get with the program!
Are you ready for the Great Housing Race of 2017?

Double the inventory is nice and all, but... still very small. Good! But not "angels singing from on high" amazing, especially when I can go plop down 5,000 items to custom build whatever I want in another MMO.
Is it doubled across all sizes?
Congrats to those with small houses. But how fair is it that smalls will get what larges currently have? The sad thing is they left mansions at 200 for so long that 400 will seem like a godsend. Hard to celebrate with the knowledge that mansions are six times larger than smalls, and we're still only getting double of what a small gets...
Still lobbying for them to follow the 1:2:6 ratio (whatever smalls get, it should be double for mediums and six times more for larges). Mediums and larges deserve to make combos and have enough furniture slots to fill their spaces too. Please consider that.
i have to agree, mediums already seem rather packed (at least most that ive visited) with the 150 limit. unfortunately mansions are about double the size of a medium, and only got a 50 item increase by comparison.
i will say that 200 items has furnished my mansion rather well, but ive also cut off the entire basement, and part of the first floor. that 200 should be enough for me to remove the walls, but compared to a small or medium they will still look incredibly empty.
that said, i didnt expect more than 50-100 more items, so im still excited.
Same here. I wasn't expecting much of an increase. SE is lucky their customers have such low expectations. xD That's really what is so bittersweet about it. I'm grateful for any increase at all, but the ratio of slots to space is really off-balanced, and larges still got the raw end of the deal. As I mentioned, congrats to the owners of smalls. As a decorator I can understand how overjoyed they must feel to have such a huge increase. I just wish we could get support for greater increases for mediums and larges, as they have far greater areas to decorate.
At least the amount of people who will be able to purchase these houses will be limited to those that have stormblood installed. While granted that's still probably enough people to sell out all the houses, the competition should be lessened at least a little bit.
Oh, now I can add more stuffed animals, a globe, a full kitchen, cleaning supplies, shelves, and I'll still have space for decorations! Aw, yeah! :) XD
I almost didn't believe it when I overheard(saw?) people talking about it in-game. So, so happy!! So many new additions to our small FC house! <3
I love the item increase, thank you! But I too think it shouldn't be a flat increase across the board due to item density in the housing size difference. I think that ideally it should be 25/50/150/300 for apartment/small/medium/large instead. That's 50%/50%/100%/150% increase. (Someone correct me if I remember wrongly)
The main issue I'm worried about is how the outdoor furniture count and interactive furniture in-door will play with the new change...
The Housing rush is gonna be nuts compared to when Housing was first released. Gil was somewhat harder to come by back then, now people can be easily swimming in it. Additionally since they are delaying the housing release so players can focus on the Xpack, it means that everyone will be ready and waiting to get in. Not to mention moving houses will be implemented which means current owners will be competition and not just new buyers.
It's going to be a mess on populated servers.
Are Mediums getting an increase or just Smalls?
I am very pleased about this :)
I agree even doubling L homes item limit wont solve it forever BUT, after asking, pleading and begging for this for years now....I am very pleased to see this change incoming, very!! I will finally be able to put items on the bottom floor and start using it.
TY se, a huge step in the right direction for housing enjoyment :)
This is fantastic. Our Large FC house is pretty full, but this will help immensely with adding little touches. My personal Medium will never get anywhere near the new limit!
I nearly cried when Yoshida announced the item limit increase. My house and my FC's house are going to look fabulous!!!!!
Yup, saw the Live Letter on the second day. At least it's a reasonable explanation and I kind of expected it to be honest. Having the community ward is nice but it's extremely restrictive in terms of scaling. Hope they come up with a proper solution someday but for now I'm satisfied with the in-door furniture increase. A big thank you to the housing and coding team! :3
