yes theres nothing quite like the first experience with a new FF tonberry "Hmm I wonder how quickly ill die this time, will he hit me with 9999 right of the bat? will he slowly walk up to me and then me splatter all over the walls? will he wait till ive killed so many of his friends his hatred will curse me to death? or will he just wait till his 2 tonberry party friends die then hit me and the rest of my team with a one hit kill shot to end it all."
on another note, it will be interesting to see how bahamut gets put into play in 14, along with many of the other avatars, eions, summons, etc.
We are missing the classic exp/gil givers! You now, those 3 little bolls that floated that you killed for lots of exp or gil. Each FF named em differantly.
Iron Giants ? Thats another traditional Final Fantasy monster, up there with Coeurl (Those yellow tiger/juaguar things that petrify/confuse you all the time with the long whiskers.)
Oh and we cant forget Mimics either! adding mimics to leves by mixing them in with the normal treasure chests that appear on the field during leves would be a cool way for them to show up in FFXIV.
The fact that I have no idea what ur talking about shocks and astounds me, care to elaborate? I feel like I definately want to kno wtf this mobs is.
some other mobs id like to see are Chimeras(sp?) and Ultima.
also was any1 else a little disappointed when they found goblins and realized its just the same exact thing from FFXI?
I was hoping for something that would fit better with 14's theme, FFXI gobbys just seem too playful looking for 14 to be honest.
I remembered their name! Mover!
Mover (ムーバー, Mūbā) is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. They appear to be red balls, with no physical features outside of two eyes. Movers usually appear in threes, and have low HP. However, to compensate, they often have very high Evasion, Speed, and are protected from most normal means of attack, making them dangerous foes. Being some of the most difficult random enemies in the games in which they appear, they are usually encountered in the latter portions of the game, often in the Final Dungeon. Their main method of attack is the Delta Attack. Despite their difficulty, they are very desirable enemies to fight, since they give large rewards in AP and gil
Behemoth. I want it to dwarf the Buffalo NM :O
I hope they bring back Behemoths :O Maybe the Garleans could use them in war or something.
I am in favor of a game that has monsters that at least look like their traditional mythical appearance.
I am in favor of a game that returns to the idea of why these monsters are so deadly and give them abilities that are terrifying, such as petrification, severe deadly poison, disease, paralysis, sleep, drains, etc.,
I am strongly against a game that makes monsters look dumb like they do in every modern Final Fantasy game now.
Yeah, I've been waiting for tonberries and behemoths.
I also miss Mandragoras, Adamantoises, Chimeras, and Zuus :D
AND OBVIOUSLY the weapons XD
Dude that opening movie was badass.. I'd love it if they made a besieged type system for Ishgard when they open it and have a destructable environment like that.. Where big mobs like a Behemoth can destroy walls and big NM's can nuke doors down, etcetc.. Obviously wouldn't ever happen but dear god that'd pwn.
A big war cutscene would be awesome if they had Behemoths in them, tearing a city apart and soldiers trying to fight them off. Didn't the Garleans destroy Ala Mihgo or something? (I've only done up to rank 30 in story quests) They could have a flashback where they show them destroying stuff :O
I'm in favor of behemoth too, though I especially liked the behemoths of FFXII where they were bipedal and looked part human. (King behemoth in that game, on the other hand, was a cheap fafnir ripoff. <.<; ) There's just something about it, how they looked like dangerous warrior beasts, more cunning than your average behemoth, while still retaining the behemoth look.
If not that, or perhaps for king behemoth, the more traditional looking behemoth like the old-time sprites like FFVI and the more classical models like FFX would be nice. FFXI behemoth was OK, but those weird hornlike protrusions behind its elbows and knees just looked awkward to me.
Also, magic pots! Those little guys are just so adorable yet overpowering. It would be interesting if you could use an elixir on them for some bonus as well. :O
Came in to say magic pots.

Before anything and everything, I proclaim bring back the XI Mandragoras. They've sort of become a mascot for FF in general thanks to XI. However, I liked a lot of the XII variations on them like Aruane and Deadly Nightshades. So before the Dev team gets into anything, I wanna see them return.
As for some of the nasty beasties we will need to deal with later... First off, I'd like to say we need some abandoned forts to explore. Then get some of the monsters that were exclusively HNMs in XI in as regular monsters, like Khimairas and Behemoths. Personally, for some of the harder dungeons, since I know the AI could handle it, I'd like to see some living statue sort of monsters. They're pretty much still and blend in with other actual statues that look like monsters, but pass to close, and they attack. Also, they should be like Chigoes in XI. Their names don't show and you can't target'em until it's too late. Stuff like Gargoyles and Brain Pans (from XII)
If you're talking about which Behemoth type to use as well, look at XIII. They had both. Once you dealt enough damage to a behemoth, it stood at got mean. So you could have Behemoths that worked like Proto-Omega in XI that switched between stance and which moves it had available. And weather it was weak to magic or physical attacks.
Now, about the time they get around to adding Flayer (if you've ever seen the unofficially leaked list of planned classes, it's the whip class) I'd like to see Lamia return. I think XIV can stand to make them a bit more gorgon like with longer tails than XI did.
Something that feels like it belongs in Mor Dhona... Slaven from XII. Particularly the ones with crystals on their back.
Oh, right. We also need Mech Beats. Like a lot of Machina from X. I figure when we get to the empire areas, we'll see War Mechs and some other robots.
And I almost forgot about Ochu!
I'd like big wyrms roaming or flying around to add some danger to the world. Similar to the ring wyrms in 12 or amphiptere in 11.
Another cool thing would be some robotic type enemies since the empire seems to have pretty advanced technology.
I just found out that coeurl is already in the dat files :O

I'd love to see some gigantic sand worms outside of Ul'dah.
Nitpicking here, but that was Tavnazia in the opening battle, not Jeuno.
Mobs I'd like to see:
Iron Giants, Roc/Zuu, Mandragora, Magic Pots, Ochu, Tonberry, Behemoths, Dragons, Adamantoise, Gigas, Mecha (FFIV-FFVI era)... ah hell, pretty much anything from FF1-FF9 + FF11 would be fine by me.
