Last Heavensward 3.0 Battle (no story spoilers)

I say this as a small plea for Stormblood - SE made a massive, spectacular mistake in not iLvl capping the final Heavensward 3.0 Trial.

What could have been an enduring, spectacular fight is reduced to an utter face-roll if more than a party member or two has current end-game gear (only to worsen upon the release of 4.0). It really marred the ending of an otherwise-wonderful storyline.

I can understand allowing for a bit of gear-padding so that everyone can get past, but this went way, way too far. Terrible decision. I sincerely hope that Stormblood's conclusion, whatever it may be, isn't also rendered obsolete by such short-sightedness.

Or you know you could get a group together in gear level appropriate and beat with minimum gear level if you want it that way. Don't force it on everyone else.

You must be bloody joking. It's an 8-person fight that's part of the storyline; every other storyline mission is (appropriately) iLevel capped; it's got a low-enough Tomestone total that nobody in their right mind would farm it. If you're seriously arguing that the final fight of an entire expansion should be so rendered so easy by over-gearing that two or three newcomers can literally /sit in the middle and win easily, then you really shouldn't be playing anything more advanced than a free game on a cell phone.

The fight has always been faceroll. Though I do agree on syncing ilvl

Wait... are you posting from an alt? Because from the looks of it the character you're posting from doesn't have a single job at 60...

Also Idk if you tried the Minstrel's Ballad version of that fight when it was relevant, but it was HARD. Easily the hardest single trial in the game. (It was meant to bridge the difficulty gap between Gordias 2 and 3 Savage, which was massive.) The story is supposed to be accessible for everyone, which is why Singularity Reactor was so easy.

The only content that has ever had ilvl syncs has been dungeons. All of the 2.0 Trials, and the 2 8 man story dungeons were unsynced.

The content was faceroll 2 years ago when it was released. It was meant to be a fun fight, not a challenging one.

What OP is saying is that it isn't even fun because players are TOO OP now and you miss out on all the spectacle. I agree that it should be level synced because it's an amazing fight (easily top 3 in story battles in the game) and newcomers at least deserve to experience the spectacle

What spectacle? He still does all the mechanics once he hits 1% and you see his ultimate. Everything that existed back in 3.0, still exists to this day.

Level sync is largely superfluous in stuff like this anyways, that's why it isn't even there in Castrums. And I don't even do trial roulette anymore, lul.

As story content, Singularity Reactor was always meant to be easy to clear. I don't think I've ever heard about anyone wiping to that fight, even when the content was brand new.

If you want to experience the fight that you're craving, do Singularity Reactor Extreme. It's a hell of a lot easier now than it used to be, thanks to higher ilevels, but if you don't do the mechanics right you'll still wipe. (I would highly recommend looking up the mechanics ahead of time, because 7 people who know the fight can easily carry a dead person through it, and it can definitely suck to "experience" a cool fight while kissing the ground.)

Well, the iLvL sync would be somewhere between i180 and i210.

I doubt that's going to change much except dragging out the fight for the sake of dragging it out.

guilty of wanting to add video of that with the John Cena bgm for a FC recruit video back in the day, First time I seen that I was MT and was laughing so hard cause it was so terribly wrong that moment you realize youre chasing a boss with no aggro table around like the first time you went into a dungeon as a gladiator in 2.0

Went through with a player on their first clear this past weekend. He had fun. It was easy and all, but he did enjoy it. He'll probably go into the Ex version for challenge.

That said, it also would be fun to try it (story) undersized as things stand now. You don't need a full party for it.

The difficulty of that is higher than the final 2.0 fight (against Lalabrea, not Ultima Weapon)

As has been said, Thordan was easy right out of the gate. I occasionally remember seeing someone die, but never a full wipe, even when folks were doing the fights with mostly quested equipment. I do agree, though, that there's a little something lost when you aren't able to see him panicking after he uses Ultimate End and it fails to kill you. Getting him down to 1% health before he uses it pretty much guarantees the fight is going to end as soon as he's targetable again.

It would likely sync to i180 like the dungeon, but even at that level, players can still OBLITERATE that fight
