gold saucer new races

this is a question for ARR community if we could get yoshi p and dev team to include airship races through fly zones would that be something that would interest you guys? (maybe just maybe go a little death race on it like shooting down other airships lol though i'd doubt they'd do that.) either using customizable manacutters or even maybe making use of fc airships doing them as teams players handling different tasks on the airship to help insure a win would you guys like that included in gold saucer?

Some new mini games would be nice, there is a ton of space not really being used as of now. Maybe some memory games or some sort of quick puzzle games?

Why not make chocobo races fun first. Flying chocobo races?

Gold saucer needs less of the same, to be honest.

I personally prefer non-instanced content over instanced content. And the issue with this is TT Tournaments are now instanced to battle wintrading, but it's more or less PvP GS content, as opposed to GATEs and the cactpot(s). So non-instanced stuff has to remain PvE to make up for the fact of potential wintrading.

That would be seriously cool to have airship races! That and more games to play as well. Gold Saucer feels like it needs a TON of stuff added into it; it's so barren... o.o

I'd prefer people to do more chocobo races, my 300 rating chocobo never sees any real players :(

Chocobo Racing need new racetracks. A track in Western Highlands through the air would be nice

How about a go-cart or tiny chocobo wagon (resembles a go-cart) so we can drive around the entire gold saucer just for fun... FC's could set up races and have set markers.... All this could be done in a non instances environment. 1 mgp per half hour with a 30 min wait period after timer is up to prevent server overload. you could even add mini games for it as well.

I would also love to see blitz ball added. I use to have a lot of fun playing that back in FFX and would love to see an updated version of Blitz Ball. In all honesty I think I spent way more time playing Blitz Ball then running the story. Once you had your team leveled up it was so much fun.

did the idea of flying mount races got dropped? They talked about it 1 year ago or so.

those are actually good ideas too need chocobo racing and mini games once in a blue moon i myself get a player on chocobo races hell maybe even adding rides to gold saucer would be good on SE's part so that people wanna go there more and do things there.

I feel like if they're going to make flying races they should keep going with the chocobo thing right? They already have a whole system for that they could add onto~ Not that I think airship races is a bad idea. I think they could try different things with that stuff though, like you could make a classic arcade game with the airships - those bullet hell helicopter like games you know (top down RaidenX stuff, or perhaps Sine Mora like). Again airship races sounds interesting and not a bad idea, just thought they already have quite a bit of content that would neatly flow into the idea (chocobos).

Tangent1 (lol): Since they wanted to add more modifications to the magitek mounts (or at least thought about it) they could also make a rock em sock em robots match, add parts into that - all these things need NPC AIs though so you can spends hours on it, not hours waiting on it :P. Concern with adding neat parts to the mount is like with chocobo breeding you can't bring them out to the wild, I really wanted to breed and ride my chocobo.. (even if you can only have like one or two bred chocobos commanded to a whistle at a time- also thought they could add more chocobo variation, like the cute fluffly haired ones in FFXII).

2: Just as an aside, I really like jumping puzzles :D - I feel they could make a void room or put a curtain over the jumping puzzle areas sometimes and load out with a different puzzle (void room = any theme/size the devs wanted).

As I'm already tangenting like crazy iirc didn't Yoshida really want to add like the bike and snowboard mini game from FFVII?

I wish chocobo races was more like Mario Kart or ModNation Racers. I would be all over that. Haven't raced chocobos in aeons, so I don't remember exactly how it was, but I knew I was disappointed.

I wonder if Verminion being a huge flop made them stop working on new gold saucer attractions.

Am I going crazy or does anybody else remember there being an interview a while back implying that we'd be getting some sort of flying mini-game for the Gold Saucer?

they could still add stuff to make it better imo hell i found it odd we didn't see performances by dancing chocobos like they did in lightning return's or maybe other daily performances one's you can take part in?

The Toy box housing item has stuff like this. Inn rooms have one, iirc, if you want to try it out.

If they boosted the mgp rewards to more reasonable amounts i think it would help a lot. 2 minutes in a chocobo race and i get less than 500 mgp with a new chocobo. I hear 1k is about the current max payout(these numbers are based on you actually getting first place). I can make a million MGP from the cuffs curr mini game, but if i get 0 or 10-25 mgp each time i play it.. Imagine how long it would take. Over a thousand plays.. Im sorry but that game is just not good enough to play it more than a thousand times. Its something i do when waiting for a queue or to get my weekly/daily logs completed and it barely helps me save anything up at all between ques. Its wasted content imo.

The only reason im making a chocobo is for the cloud card, fenrir, and future mgp rewards. I would race for fun but i cant ever win if i race someone i know who has a better chocobo. Its just not fun losing all of the time. The races seem to cater to those who have the better birds. I feel like the skill-level should be a more weighted factor. Especialy when breeding makes you restart from the beginning each time you try for a better pedigree...

As for new race types.. like Airship racing, i fully support that. Instead of combat racing, just add two modes. Deathmatch, and Standard Race. In death match you just shoot people for points. Like the submarine game in FFVII.

Chocobo racing should include flight in some races already. In my opinion it should have happened already. Its odd that they have went so long without adding courses and at least some flight in certain areas of the new courses. They should also add swimming in some areas as well with the release of stormblood.

I would rather have airship battles. Like have an airship controlled by 4 people facing off against another airship controlled by 4 people. One person steers it, while the other three run certain things on the ship (cannons, etc.).

yeah and then just have the queues randomized for who does what on the airship so it's never the same ya know i should have thought my querstion through abit more because IMO many of these are good ideas but i guess starting with one did help get the ball rolling keep these ideas coming guys like the posts of people you agree with and maybe SE will take notice due to popular demand of the certain ideas
