Over half of those of those maintenance windows don't even affect the server you're on, not to mention the few early completion ones that are apart of that list.
I doubt you've lost 120 hours worth of gametime over the course of 1.5 months.
What do the Lodestone and Mogstation ones have to do with your server issues? The servers are still up when those are on Maintenance unless there are All World Maintenance going on at the same time.
Maintenance/Emergency Maintenance is something we have all agreeded to from the ToS (which I am sure has been stated many times here on the forum). It's a necessary evil.
Also, wasn't two of those All World Maintenance needed to load up patch 3.5 and 3.51? O.o
Gilgamesh is on Aether isn't it? What do the Mana, Gaea, and Chaos data centers have to do with anything? And the Lodestone and Mog Station?
If you're going to complain about something you agree to every time you accept the ToS, at least get your ducks in a row first.
Sorry, but Square-Enix doesn't really owe you anything, even if all those maintenances did affect your server.Quote:
5. INTERRUPTION TO THE SERVICE
From time to time, in order to provide our customers with the optimal gaming experience, it is necessary for Square Enix to conduct routine maintenance on the computers and/or servers that support the Game. During these times, access to the Game or support services may be interrupted. Access may also be temporarily suspended in whole or in part, without notice, due to emergency repairs, fire, flood, explosion, war, strike, embargo, governmental action or failure to act, the act of any civil or military authority, act of God, or by any other causes beyond Square Enix's control, or any other reasons for which Square Enix, in its sole discretion, deems that temporary suspension is necessary. You acknowledge that disruptions of service may occur and waive any causes of action against Square Enix in any way arising from or related to any such disruptions of service.

The response to this thread is why I like this community.
"Oh, you wanna do your Wondrous Tails? Hah, just kidding."

I love when I see smartass replies quoting the terms of service.
Nonono, you see, you need to provide SERVICE first.
Perhaps you would prefer that they just do nothing when the servers are crashing constantly, and no one can log in. Taking the server down to perform maintenance is service. Your sub fee pays for these services. If you'd like to log in everyday and play a broken game, I can recommend several F2P MMOs ...
OP I think you just padding your post to make it look worst then it really is. Mog Station/Lodestone maintenance don't affect gameplay and PSN maintenance wouldn't affect you either unless you play on PS4 (even then only affects the initial login) since you didn't mention what system you play on. Only 10 of the 24 of the maintenance you listed actually affect you.
Just to clear this thread up. This is more than just the ridiculous amounts of emergency server take downs. I have not been able to log in at all. Period end of story. Maybe at most i was able to get in for 12 hours. The servers have been plagued with errors, and my complaint is not them taking them down, but them taking them down and not getting the problem sorted the first time. You can pull the terms of service thing all you want. Agreeing to that does not mean you surrender your rights as a consumer. Law's are on both sides for the company and the people. I have not been able to log on. After reinstall and multiple other assorted trouble shooting to clear up that it was not on my end. If i do not receive a service i payed for then that should be refunded. I asked for very little, because of their great content that they provide. It does not matter though. I got this sorted out via customer care rep already. The customer is always first. That is SE's moto. To end this pointless rant. I was rocking that red mage logo way before it was a trending topic. I have always had a red mage in my party for final fantasy games, and there is nothing wrong with showing love for a class. I respect your class of choice you respect mine. I expect more from final fantasy fans. Poop tossing is not a great way to represent yourself. If your going to throw law and contract around at least throw both sides of it so you don't sound like a biased bigot. Thank you for your pointless replies.
Wait. So... people point out that you, a consumer, agree to a monthly terms of service that clearly indicates that such down times are non refundable so you lash out and call it biased, bigoted, and refer to it as poop tossing?
Really. Let that sink in.
It's an online game that is constantly getting new content so yes there is going to be Maintence and bugs to fix, you also agreed to the terms and conditions for playing the game which says the servers would be down for Maintence to add new content or to fix bugs.
If you want to play a game where there is little to no Maintence play an offline game or one of those little low Maintence free to play games.
You must be new to the forums OP. May I suggest you find a different game to play, Cause there always going to be maintenance and miscellaneous problems along the way. The way you making it out to be sounds like you be asking for refund every month.
You state that out of an entire month the most you were able to login for was 12hrs tops due to errors and maintenance. I find your additional points simply hard to believe and do not support this based on so little presented and much exaggerated by referencing maintenance that clearly did not affect your world or Datacenter.
I can also base it against my own experience sharing the same DataCenter, its maintenance, and issues. As your world did not have specific maintenance performed on it, the entire DataCenter did. Also the fact that everyone's connection to the service is not a sole issue or responsibility of one Company but several.
This is formulating an opinion based on what was presented by you, comparing it to posted maintenance and current DataCenter issues, as well as also being on the same DataCenter. It did not require the ToS and does not resort to attempt shutting down a counter-argument by the labeling them.
Let me shorten the list to maintenances that actually affect your ability to log in and play:
And one PSN maintenance (that isn't Square-Enix's fault) that might affect you if you're on PS3/PS4:Quote:

One of those is patch 3.5, and another is patch 3.51, which would've happened regardless. That leaves 5 maintenances that Square-Enix had to do to fix issues, which is a whopping 13.5 hours of unplanned downtime! Two of them even finished almost a combined 2 hours early, so it's really only 11.5 hours.Quote:

Kind of makes you asking for 3-5 days of refunded subscription time seem a little excessive, don't you think?
I do love my monthly "I deserve money back because maintenance" tantrum threads

Clearly you guys will take one line of text, and turn it into a claim that is not original to it's original context. Good job mirroring the modern media outlets. My complaint was not just about the server take downs that was 1/4th of it. It was mainly about SE's ability to solve the problems in the time they had taken them down and i repeat the final thing from my statement "Take the time to make sure the problems are fixed the first time correctly." The 9002, and downtime crap was not the only thing that was effecting me, but a secluded problem that did not effect the majority. Therefore your statement about me begging is sad and disrespectful. My wife is a lawyer, and i am a engineer. Do you think i really sweat the sub fee? No i don't, that still is not going to stop me from asking for something back that i could not receive due to a error in the update and conflicting problems between SE's servers and my isp. I posted all the downtime listing because it was all to tackle the same problems including my own even if it does not list those changes. Rather than providing service to half of the data centers. It would of been better for them to find the problem fix it the first time in a single time frame. Rather than trying to fix the problems throughout the entirely of the month. Please do me a favor and do not post any more negative and provocative comments, its for the birds and my problems have already been resolved by SE technical support, and a care rep. You guys make the assumptions that just because your problems were present it was the same problems as mine when it was in fact a problem related mainly the network, my ISP and SE. Computers, and networking can contain trillions of problems. Stop assuming, and enjoy the game. Thank you for your one sided opinions and thank you SE even more for being helpful and resolving the issues i was having, and refunding my monthly sub.
I'm just tossing a post in here for the sake of doing it before the thread gets deleted. Because that's what happened the last time a thread was started wanting compensation for the excessive downtime following patch 3.5.
