Request: GARO mount music change.

So I recently obtained all three mounts and decided to turn mount music back on to see what they would play when I used them. Sadly they play the default flying music for HW, considering how much PVP you have to do to get the mounts I was hoping for either the frontlines theme or the feast music theme to play for it.

Having the generic mount music for a PVP mount is kind of disappointing.

They should play the Garo theme

I thought about that to, but getting the licensing for that might be a pain! I'd settle for the Feast music tbh.

Congrats on your three mounts! I remember initially you were not looking forward to doing the PVP necessary to get them; how do you feel after the fact? Did you warm up to it at all over the course of probably over a hundred matches? :D

As for the music, I like the Feast theme myself, but wouldn't mind some sort of different music in general. Was also disappointed to see that the ADS mounts don't play any kind of Coil music whatsoever.

Cosigned, I really want the pvp music playing for these mounts.

Thanks. Well as far as my thoughts on it, after playing a lot of PVP in other MMO's and PVP focused games compared to this one, first I will say my complaints, most of which are about the mechanics of the game itself:

1. Like in EVERY mmo with PVP, healers are overpowered. That will never be fixed until game devs realize that healing should DELAY death instead of PREVENTING it. There either needs to be a flat penalty for healing across the board or spread out the healing debuff and buff it to around 50-75%. At the very least in the frontlines you can't keep up a person with around 20+ dps on them, but this is more noticeable in Feast. I've stated on other forums in other games that I'd be perfectly content ditching healing in PVP altogether because spending 2-3 minutes wailing on each other when no one ever dies is the most boring PVP experience possible. I'd rather have every die in 10-15 seconds than no one ever dying at all.

2. The slow if hit while mounted needs to go, it's one of the most stupid mechanics I've ever seen in PVP.

3. The diminishing returns on Slow are irritating, I'd rather see what other MMO's have and give melee the ability to permanently slow any ranged they catch. As long as said ranged use their escapes and debuff removal wisely, they can still get away.

4. The 2.5 GCD is especially irritating after doing PVP in games with a 1.5 second or less GCD or Overwatch.

5. Attacking not instantly dismounting you and not being able to get off your mount while stunned.

6. Not enough maps. Only having three that people even do is pretty dull honestly.

Besides those major complaints, the PVP is more or less what I expected. I do enjoy my staying power, support, and disruption as a paladin. Using a knockback to hit a healer off a ledge and stun locking another for a few seconds while my team gets kills is fun. Being able to hold a node by myself and being able to last for some time without dying is also pretty fun even if I don't really get any kills unless I use that knockback on certain high places. It's certainly something new to work on and a part of the game I never really tried until now. I'm not AGAINST the PVP so much anymore, let me put it that way.

Having a good team that's coordinated and doing well is fun and having one that doesn't know what they're doing at all gets really irritating, but that's in any content PVE or PVP. I wouldn't say that either is more difficult than the other, I think they just require different skill sets. After playing the matches so much I also have a much greater understanding of the maps and gameplay as a whole, initially I just played defense and guarded nodes, but now I'm more confident in going offense and seeing where I need go and even doing some of the calling out during the games myself. I also used the Frontlines to get all the light farming for my 270 anima weapon done, so I didn't care so much about winning or losing since I got the same amount of light either way, now however I'm more interested in getting at least second place but also learning when to recognize when we've lost!

For now, I'm having fun and I want to work on the PVP achievements. It's giving me something to do until Stormblood and for what it's worth, I'm having fun doing it thus far. Oh and as for how many matches I've played, as of the time of this posting I got 46 feast games played (I won 30 of those 46) and 174 Frontlines matches, my stats in frontlines thuse far are 58/52/60.

I too would love to see the PVP mounts given appropriate music, like the primal mounts and even some of the cash shop mounts. When the queues die back down I'll at least be able to ride around imagining I'm playing instead of sitting in my house listening to the Orchestrion :(

On top of that, Twintania & Nightmare should play Thunderer tbh.

That's a good point, in retrospect having a variety of the mounts get their music updated is a good idea.

I agree be nice had their own music then the basic default they need to fix that hopeful they do something about it in the next patch

I'd rather have some glowing effect added to them. They look inferior to the primal mounts.

Sadly, this is the case for all the other PvP mounts too, warhorses, black and white ADS and Gloria.
If they were to add PvP musics to Garo mounts, I sure hope they add it for all the others too.

I'm afraid i'm going to end up letting them collect up dust since bird mounts have cool sounds and glowy effects to them. The GARO mounts don't even make wing flap sounds. BORING.

I don't really need the glowy effects to appreciate them. But I do agree on the wing flap sound effects.

Edit: I also noticed the mounts have stirrups that move and clip through the feet rather than the feet moving more naturally with them. With the typos in the gear and the mix ups on some of the achievements, it seems they didn't really QA any of this stuff. =(

tbh I'm glad the Garo mounts don't have any crazy particle effects. I saw that gas cloud around the Firebird and was instantly turned off despite the mount itself looking fantastic. Different strokes for different folks, would be nice to have a "turn off crazy mount particle effects" option.

Too bad the music is just default stuff but not unexpected.

Yes, they should play Thunderer, especially Twintania. That fight is one of my favorites and really saddens me that the music from the fight doesn't play for the mount. It is only fitting. :(
