Red XIII type Mount Request

Soooo since FFVII is about to be rereleased, and the original was such a huge hit with several generations of Final Fantasy gamers, I thought it would be awesome to see a mount released that looks similar to Red XIII that would play the Cosmo Canyon theme song. I don't think it would be out of place with the feel they are going for with the next expansion either. Perhaps a reward for a future holiday quest line or beast tribe reward?

Just a thought :) dunno what others think about the idea.

i wouldn't go as far as to say about to be rereleased. its still going to be quite some time before we see it, but yeah I think a RedXIII mount would look pretty cool. That or a Midgar Zolom

I would personnaly prefer some Higher mounts like the Gobbue.

I would love to ride the Yeti from Snowcloack or HW wild zone.

I want to ride Yuffie mount.

Can I have a Tifa mount?

I would be happy with sephiroth's wing being a mount ;u;

Such optimism! Bit soon to ask I think. Be neat if they did do some form of themed swag though. I'm still looking forward to something from XV. (Hopefully will do it after the DLCs or during perhaps...)

Would they give it pixie dust or would they really continue to make non-flying mounts now?

^This. Although the actual quote made by Yoshi on the subject that I knew of referred to Red XIII as a character and not a mount, the context was still the same:

That's a shame. I'd love a Red XIII mount. Its not like something similar could not be created and pushed off as a species existing in the world of FFXIV with visual similarities to Red XIII. I suppose the issue would be making it look different enough from the character in FFVII, while still maintaining enough similarity in appearance to fulfill the fandom's desire for it.

I mean, let's be honest. The Allagans were doing all kinds of genetic manipulations on anything that breathed. I could see a breed of chimera with Red XIII's aesthetics.

I can't see how Red XIII wandering around Eorzea destroys the image of FFVII any more than having Lightning around Eorzea destroys the image of FFXIII. Its not like he's even the last of his kind anymore either, pretty sure the end of VII had a scene with him and some puppies or something.

Yoshi-P is basically respecting the lore of FFVII (Red XIII is an endangered species).

Lightning has God/Voidal intervention reasons.

But when Lightning did come to Hydaelyn she straight up said this must be another test from my god(Bhunivelze). I think being tossed into another reality by your god for some kind of test is more plausible than throwing down an endangered species for sake of fan service. Not saying fan service is wrong and I love fan service but Lighting visiting us didn't seem out of place given the context of how she visited us.

Yet we have Sleipnir mounts. I don't think it needs to be Nanaki himself, but Eorzea could have its own Red XIII species inspired by the original.

I know it's going to be a while before the rerelease of VII. I just figure there is no time like the present to start putting the request in ;). I get that Red XIII is part of an endangered species but technically Sleipnir is a one of a kind mount that we shouldn't have access too unless Odin just keeps cloning him :D. Then there are all the baby Behemoth cubs that were saved from the cave and turned into mounts... just how many Behemoths were in that cave? O.o

The point is they can always find a way of putting any kind of mount they want into the game. I don't consider it a lack of respect for the original FFVII writers and devs, but as a nod to many of the gamers that really got their FF start back in VII.

It is more because Red XIII is a intelligent character that we don't get him as a mount. If he show up as a mount, then the other of the big VII party also have to show up as mounts.
Only because he have 4 legs, he would be happy to be a mount and the others don't have to worry about becoming mounts? This is discrimination ^^

I never said it had to be Red XIII :) I said Red XIII inspired...again, they used Behemoth and Sleipnir... does that mean we need an Odin mount? :P.. It doesn't need to be Nanaki himself, just looking for something similar with a Cosmo Canyon theme played while mounted... that's not exactly a huge request all things considered.

lol intelligence is a measure for mounts now? are they taking IQ tests?
Moogles are seem pretty intelligent creatures capable of speech, but are they dumb enough to be mounts? or do they become braindead because they are fat?
we also have Midgardsormr which i know he speaks very slowly but I doubt its because he is dumb rather his perception of time might be at fault.

On a side note I personally don't really want to ride Red XIII. Now as a companion, that I would be all for

Similar skeleton, sure. Modified to look more like Red XIII's species, absolutely. Doesn't need to be an exact copy of Red XIII. Ditch the shackles, the feathers in the hair, the braids, the markings, etc...

That'd be pretty awesome, but SE seems pretty firmly set against adding anymore pet classes/jobs to the game, last I heard. If you meant something more like, Red XIII (a lookalike) in place of your Chocobo, I could get behind that, but somehow, I doubt SE will let us do that.
