patch 3.51

so is there any ideas what is in the patch i heard there going to nerf aether oils but that is just a rumour as far as im aware so ideas what else might be in it

I haven't seen anything about a 3.51, from what I have seen 3.55 is the nerfs, which arrives in February. Then in March we get 3.56 which is part 2 of The Far Edge of Fate.

Probably fixes to the various bugs that have been seen since 3.5, and possibly a nerf to the Aether Oil anima step. Doubt we're getting an umbrite nerf before 3.55.

I believe Diadem is coming back with 3.55.

I remember I heard they had something planned for crafters that was heavily glamour oriented? Though honestly I only barely remember it? Could be that maybe or I could be mistaken and that's 3.55 or 3.5 part 2. Honestly it's probably just big fixes and tweaks, possibly aether oil nerf I suppose (we can dream right?)

i hope there is some form of aether nerf im torn between using tomes for aether or buying umbrite incase they do nerf the oils

Most likely readjusting the que times for Dun Scaith.

A word of advice - don't spend a single lore tome on anything that isn't an umbrite. Even if they do nerf one of the steps, the umbrites are hell.

yeah a couple of people have told me this maybe i will just start with umbrite and get the oils through weekly

That's definitely the way to go. Unless you're a Masochist you will be spending at least a couple of months getting Umbrite, during which time you can easily get the Oils through the weekly quest. Annoyingly it's not possible to get Pneumite until you've done the Umbrite part so Poetics just mount up with no real use. :'(

This is incorrect. I'm on the Umbrite step and i've currently got 15 Pneumites ready. I spent my GC Seals getting them. Also poetics do still have use. you can spend them on items you can trade in for Crystal Sand. means you don't have to grind fates for Amber Encased Vilekin as much

I don't get this why nerf Aether Oil. It's one of the easier steps of the current Relic. If anything they need to take a look at the time investment needed for Umbrite stage.

Since it's a Thursday morning patch, that means DoH/DoL updates. It will likely be Zhloe, and a few new gathering items and recipes.

Highly doubtful they would do anything with relic or diadem.

Like stouter has said, and perhaps some sort of form of fix for the title we got from completing the MSQ which was a huge spoiler, the damage is done but there was an apology and mention of it being patched

Alternative to tome for aether oil: weekly CT quest in Mor Dhona.

I'll just say, go for umbrite. Even the 5 weeks it took me to run all of the towers for the oil I only had like 50 umbrite/ (possibly max) 80. That was with saving up umbrite incase I decided to do another relic. Would much prefer a nerf to umbrite over oil. Either in increased points or less required.

I believe the patch wiil change the Algorithm of how queueing for Dun Scaith works in regards to Tanks

I just want to be able to buy items from 2.0 area beast tribe vendors at "allied" standing with all of them again. The fact they haven't fixed that is infuriating.

It's not an either/or scenario. The relic stages are always nerfed sequentially. The aether oil step is the next to be nerfed so the umbrite stage will be after that, or possibly at the same time, but not before.

I believe I saw a Famitsu interview in which Yoshi did say they would be adding an anima weapon stage nerf very soon after 3.5 so 3.51 does make sense. I doubt they'd wait until 3.55 as that is when they'll likely drop restrictions and difficulty across the board for many things to let people catch up quickly in preparation for the expansion.

You can? Is it only via GC Seals because I checked Poetics a few hours ago & I can't see them listed. I know that they drop from maps too. BTW, I was referring specifically to buying them from Poetics because they are easy to get whilst collecting Lore but have little to spend on.

Auriana in mor dhona sells them for poetics (Allagan Tomestones of poetics - Other, 6th from the top), but you can also buy them in Idylshire for lore, or as mentioned above with GC seals. You do not have to be on that step of the quest, can purchase them anytime prior.

Yoshi P said in a stream just before 3.5 dropped that aether oil will be nerfed in 3.51 while sand nerf will be 3.5. Despite people saying aether oil is the easy step, it is still time gated by 5 weeks unless you want to further your already long lore grind. They should just change the name from anima to Lore relic.

Thanks, I'm definitely going to check again because they weren't there yesterday. If they're still not there I'll report it as a bug. Had to waste Poetics on crap yesterday as I was capped & won 500 on Khloe. >_<

Double checked & Auriana **DEFINITELY** doesn't have pneumite for sale during "A Dream Fulfilled" when you are strengthening the Anima via crystal sand & umbrite.
