I mean... Warriors go from a FKN Deathmachine of an Axe to a little Toothpick with glitter on it. They cant be Serious? Where did 3/4 of my weapon go?

the mch relic looks like a toy water gun.
I prefer the new WAR Anima to all the other steps. Why? Because it actually looks like an axe that a person can feasibly use for once.
the Nin one is just as bad
I get people wanting to love the design of the final weapon, but sadly it doesn't always happen. I'm not a fan of the final form for Ninja myself but to be honest I'll just glamour it back to the last style cause I really dig the look. It's as simple as that, if you don't like it, revert it to the phase you liked you can't always expect everyone to enjoy every design in the game.
Did we really need another thread about something already being discussed? One long thread is more likely to get attention than a dozen short ones.
Well...you guys want new stuff every 2 to 3 months. At some point they will run out of ideas and just toss in some quick doodle to get the thing in on time. This is what you get..
I'm not sure I see what the issue is.
I don't think it really looks bad, but I do think it definitely looks underwhelming compared to the other jobs' relics this tier. NIN too.
I think more the issue is the graphical effects on some weapons are downright criminal compared to others. I'm another one of the few who thought Armageddon and Blood Emperor always looked silly because a WAR axe should be a massive chunk of metal and not a decorative sheet plate. But even the PLD's newest weapon base design is simple but when unsheathed the effects are what make it a sight. Same for BRD's. But other weapons just got crapped on this run. Hell, even WAR's looks better than MNKs. Base design of theirs is okay, but the graphics are so miserable; A pitiful laser doodle with barely any light emanating from them.
If anything, the flames sprouting from the axe should be like... twice their size and like an actual second shape of the axe. Go all Shaman's spirit weapon with that shit.
They are. The WAR axe isn't "just flames and glow". There is a solid energy axe blade. This is why I think people who are whining about the axe either have no idea what they're talking about or are just complaining because it's blue.

People just don't want to see it because they looked at a bad angle in the fitting room and are looking to whine about how "it's t-too small!! looks like level 15 weapon!!!!!!!"
Well you can always get the old weapons from the node and glamour it at least. Or there is the new garo event with tons of different weapons. :p
Ooookay, I never noticed the actual shape. I'm dumb. Looks pretty neat in that respect, though if the flames sorrounded the axe a bit I think it'd really sell it.
Like, hey you thought this was merely an axe! *unsheaths* BUT IT IS IN FACT AN AXE MADE FROM THE FROZEN FLAMES OF THE DFAMNED URRRRRGH!
Also, you look like a Scotsman from Hell. THE SCOSTMAN OF THE DAMNED TRAPPING THE SOULS OF THOSE HE'S SLAIN IN HIS AXE TO MURDER EVEN MORE.
What's the problem, its only a few gil from a vendor isn't it?
I'll take Compensation Issues for $2,000, Alex.
So sorry to have offended you with my own aesthetic tastes. But, y'know, some people prefer simpler designs with a bit of visual flair. Others prefer more more complex looking designs with a lot of visual flair. Both are perfectly valid to like. I'm the former, you're the latter; nothing wrong with that. There is, as you said, glamour as an option.
People tend to exaggerate when they start getting heated, so hostility may not have been the best word. But you did just compare a runic axe with blue fire to this https://www.raymears.com/_rm_picture...tdoor-Axe1.jpg
"People" (myself being one) are complaining about the base model. Not the glow.
To me, the glow is fine.. However 95% of the time we have to stare at a glowless Iron Labrys on our back. If the axe head actually extended out to the glow, with a similar elegant/simplistic "style" (perhaps some better texture quality too) I would be all for it. In its current state it really is just far too small.
However your opinion doesn't matter. Your WAR is 36.
However you didn't spend 129471892379813981 hours (exaggerated obviously) working toward this step, in order to get something this underwhelming.
The base model is a niche taste at best. Something best saved for a glamour or primal weapon, not a relic that requires massive time investment.
It needs to look "impressive". It needs to look like the devs put as much effort into designing the weapon as we put in to get it. Currently it doesn't. That is the complaint.
I'll be the first to agree that in the model viewer it doesn't look that great, but quite a few naysayers have really come around already when they view it in the actual game. I've been there with the grinding countless hours only to get something you visually don't like (I just finished my Deathlocke today! I'm happy with this stage), some of the previous stages of my gun have been underwhelming and sometimes not the best- but at the same time I'd come to the forums and see how happy so many other MCH were with it, so I just glamoured it away until the next step. It's very difficult to make something everyone likes but this isn't exactly a situation where NOBODY likes the axe either, so who is "wrong" with wanting the axe changed or not?
Any excuse is a good excuse to discredit anyone's opinion that doesn't match your own, eh?
And I've had to deal with shitty visual models the entirety of my MNK anima, Sultan's Fists were a nice looking pair of gloves with razors attached to them. Everytime I had to look at my DRK friend with that hulking monster slayer of his Anima, I was totally jelly.
And now, this new stage are some nice looking UFO fists but incredibly bloated when unsheathed and with probably the weakest effect among all the weapons.
Dev's artistic vision is seriously questionable at times, but if they deem it looking good, then that's how it flies. We may not consider some of these impressive, but if even one person likes them then they deserve to be as they are.
Having now had a bit of a better look at it I actually kind of like the WAR anima. I don't think the angle in the preview screen really does it justice.
