was just disconnected and in queue to log back in...very slow though
I was wondering what was going on. The game wouldn't let me sign up in the DF.
Aye, failed to load back in after my duty trial.
Yep. Was getting server congestion notices earlier when mousing over some characters instead of a visual on them which happened last time. Now all my characters show up with the congestion message and the huge queue showed up.
Seems so -_- this happens every time there's a new patch
Aether be borked.
I wonder if they can move Balmung or Gilgamesh to the other cluster, and if that would help o.o
Seriously this is a joke SE..... 24 hour maintenance followed by crashing servers followed by emergency maintenance followed by hotfix maintenance and now your garbage servers are crashing AGAIN within 3 days???
Get your shit together, you don't even have F2P game uptime FFS.
unable to log in. rip
Deja vu.

The 2 most populated servers in the game are on the same datacenter. I'm not surprised there are issues.
The game hasnt had downtime in weeks, major patch, crap happens.
Oi not again.
Down again - confirmed 90k on my end.
Honestly though, we all need a break from farming light.
Agreed.
In fairness, I'm not sure the dev team (or anyone directly involved with FFXIV) is to blame. This reeks of corporate pinching pennies and forcing sub-standard equipment on everyone. Hard to say either way, but it's ridiculous to take 24 hours for a patch / maintenance and then have so many problems crop up.
I got kicked off as well
Sorry I have expectations that a service I pay for wont Trump the bed repeatedly. Its like they either refuse to learn from past mistakes, or do not invest properly in their testing process and you the consumer gets to pay for it.
I have no idea whats wrong with people that defend garbage service from am unfeeling bottom dollar corporation. Get your head checked and let the rest of us hold them accountable as consumers should.
Who was fishing?
Here we go....again
This isn't being caused my a bug; server uptime should in no way be affected by a patch. Plus, as others have stated, other companies really haven't had issues nearly this bad. In fact, even FFXI was better than this, to my recollection, and that was a far older game.
I share Beeraga's frustrations here. It's not so much a matter of emotional investment; it's the fact that saying 'well, shit happens' excuses SE completely for what borders on incompetence in this case.
I would understand your perspective if someone were blaming an individual, but a company...? SE could easily be investing enough in this title to not have this happen. I'm sure you know, as someone who works on server hardware for a living, that hardware on its last legs (as an example) is far more likely to break down than high-quality stuff. Coupled with the fact that this doesn't happen nearly as often with other major titles, even F2P titles, and we have a right to criticize.
I think you guys might have an addiction. Relax.
Gah connected, then gave me a 10105...
It also had less people playing on it, and the servers didn't really give you a choice on where to go. Aether is the most populated datacenter in XIV, and this, it has issues the others don't, namely, it can't handle the stresses it wasn't designed for. And more people keep transferring to Balmung and Gilgamesh.
SE just needs to perma lock the servers.
I was in Bismarck for my trial and when I left I got kicked. It said there were 426 people in que, yay? Welp guess I'll try early tomorrow.
Well, this is frustrating. Oh well.
So is this just going to be a daily thing now? I mean I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to get my chores (Anima) over and done with and then just go back to doing dailies and playing fun games in between those (thinking DQ 8 and KH 2.8).
yup as soon as i crashed and the re logging back in failed i figured this happened and i agree this happens more on ff14 than any other mmo i have ever played as well though that list is small XD
Well, that was rather rude of the server to kick me in the middle of a conversation! Guess there's nothing to do but try again tomorrow.
(Hey, SE? Maybe get some more power for poor Aether if you can!)
Either way, they have to do something considering this isn't going to be some freak accident issue anyway. I'm not opposed to locking down Balmung and Gilgamesh (there's already plenty of players there), but they'd probably also have to update the server hardware regardless.
i didn't do my pvp roulette today.........smh.
So if you plan your date night and go to a movie and the reel breaks halfway through and the theater says "Sorry, please wait 5 hours for the 1 1/2 hour feature to continue." and you get mad about that, your logic suggests I have an addiction?
You have a non-accountability problem.
"I dunno, you seem pretty upset, that shows emotional involvement." Valkyrie_Lenneth
Its cool you are not upset, I have no problem with that. But don't judge me for having a higher standard on a product I pay for. If I keep buying garbage clothes from a retailer that becomes threadbare after a few wash cycles, I stop buying from them. If you don't think that's a problem for that company, and you choose to defend them, OK.
"Bug testing" in a colloquial sense. Keep in mind, few MMOs have major updates near as frequent or with as much added content. Compare WoW's update cycle (12-15 months) to XIV's (3-4 months). While the scale may be different, the constant updates give chance to more errors, especially if you're at all familiar with how easily code can break.
