Anyone else extremely disappointed they made the relic a light farm again ?

I main blm and use it on most trials and FC helping stuff

but also love doing the daily expert and stuff on war and whm , just for the fast ques and that they are needed jobs

with this light farm again , they are forcing ppl to play specific jobs again for several
making ques all round longer again , because im not going to be the only one in this position

they should make it that get this "Item" even that soulstone would do and that gathers the "light" even if your on some other lvl 60 job

Nope not disappointed but then again I only play two jobs ninja and white mage and the way whm is treated I might as well just play my ninja if going to be dpsing plus ninja is the job I have my relic on.

Dont think you need to play the job, look at the quest, it specifically said the item needs to be in your inventory, you can play different job, I have and im still getting light

I have never witnessed the ARR grind so no, I'm not disappointed.

I'm mainly disappointed because they cant come up with something new instead...

Having those relic quests joke about how its always the same and the same again doesnt make it better either...

My guess is because people complained that the singing cluster step was too easy, which honestly it was meant to be if you notice the pattern of easy, hard, easy, etc., that relic weapons go through. I for one loved the clusters after going through umbrite stage for five jobs. You're stepping out of hell for a short break before you dive right back in. People complained and this is what SE responded with. I'm not that surprised they reused light farm

I'm more agitated they did nothing to lighten up the damn umbrite phase a little.

Not really it was expected.

Hummm, but when you access the Allagan orb who gives you the quest, it's says that you have to be equipped with the weapon.

Anyone have tested with a different job or with another weapon equipped?

I'm just glad it isn't ANOTHER lore grind.

People had tried on other jobs. You will not get credit. The inventory bit covers you not having it equipped if you're using something else. You have to be on that job.

Yes and no,

I think light farming can be good since most content you do is going to improve the weapon so I dont have to keep running ARF over and over again for tomes.

However the bad part is that I can only do it on that job with that weapon. I miss my tank queues T_T

it took 3-4 h with luk to farm all

I enjoy tanking more, however I got my bard relic to 260 first, while pld is still on umbrite and cant do both at the same time :/

Not at all. Light is not a currency I could be spending on other things. Therefore, light is inevitable as I do things. In fact, I can get light and do OTHER RELICS at the same time.

Lately I've been doing roulettes on every job BUT tank, and now I'm going to be tanking All The Things until my relic is 270. All tank mains (and healer mains) are in the same position. Queue shouldn't be affected too badly.

I'm cool with light, the amount is fine too. I just wish it's possible to do this step of relic for multiple jobs simultaneously so it doesn't get too boring.

This. Even if its another grind another step involving a ton of uncapped tomes would have been draining.

I'm glad the Pneumite could be done with poetics/lore/GC seals. As for the light farm, I've been spamming PVP because I want that GARO stuff. So I've just been doing both at the same time, killing two birds with one stone. So since I have two goals I'm working on it's made the grind tolerable so far. I'm already on the second symbol and it's glowing a decent amount. At this rate it won't take terribly long, especially since I plan on getting every GARO item.

Guess it just helps to keep in mind that its a 'relic' quest and 'filler content' which is ment to suck up time between patches. And considering some of the stuff we've had to do for past steps....light farming is cakewalk easily. Be careful though...bitch about it too much and Yoshi'll tell us to get our next upgrades from random drops off bosses in Dynamis: Uldah......and 1 drop per raid. No...no I'll stick with lightfarming.

He could make it so that you have to roll against other players too, god that would be a nightmare.

Would be nice if there were at least a better way of measuring the gain and progress. The vague descriptions of Light Gain, the obtrusive chart to measure progress, and the utterly uninformative quest checkpoint node... none of them give any solid context for how far you've actually progressed.

Oh well, guess we just wait for someone to figure out the system and write up a spreadsheet detailing it again.

During the first light farming (novus?) someone wrote a tool that gave detailed information how many light was already farmed.

I'm not happy that it's role restricted. We should be able to either use multiple roles or be able to do more than one relic at a time. I don't understand the restriction because the light awarded can be based upon the relic equipped. It complicates duties with friends who are doing the same role as you and this isn't a short term quest.

I'd rather they do it IN game though. SE is notoriously stingy with information. I'd rather the quest log specifically detail how much light we gain from each activity and how much we actually need rather than the anima glass, that would significantly improve the experience for me at least. Or at the very least put all that detailed information in the actual patch notes. Same thing with the pneumite phase, just tell us in the patch notes, "this quest will require an item that can be purchased with Lore tomestones, Poetic tomestones, or grand company seals."
