Slow down your cards.

I have some issue with new "Draw" skill - its too fast, i play Ast for 1,5 year and my hands work alone. This make me a real problem because in fight i cant focus about "OK slow down buddy, click once on this button because Square Enix give you ninja patch". I do it like "Aspect benefic on tank, swift cast helios, cleric stance, draw, dmg dmg dmg..." in general i spam buttons, a lot, so form top 10 Ast in Moogle i drop to worst 10 in world because i fu** all my cards.

Now my question: have someone idea how to slow down it? Macro? Game Settings? Please help because that ninja patch make ma a cancer.

Yes you can make it into a Macro but then it won't queue like an OGCD does, we'll all learn to live with it, and it'll be for the better. Muscle memory is easy to change! (Balanced my self a few times yesterday) But today not so much :) Good luck!

Nah, i like it this way. Sure you're prone to make mistakes but like Pomelo said, s'all about muscle memory.

I don't really understand why you would need to spam buttons in this game to begin with. Everything queues and the timing window for it is very generous. Just press the button once slightly ahead of time and that's it. The only button I spam is my dragoon WT/F&C macro, because it's the only one that doesn't queue.

When i meet people who don't spam buttons and don't know witch one spam they are usually below minion dps, also you must understand how game engine works - let me explain howto calculate when your skill is ready?, Your ping - around 100 ms, game Ticks - around 100ms (ffxiv in raid have 10 information exchange per second), imput lag in 60 fps you have 16 to 32 ms. so if you see your skill is ready that mean that skill is ready already in 130-300 ms (on ps3 it was more than 500ms) so its almost half seconds! Now go to training and use one attack when is ready, and second time when you spam it. when you spam buttons you will have 30% more dps.

I thought it was just lag, but I have clicked draw a few times now since 3.5 & it used the card on me because I'm used to mashing down 2-3 times before my card actually draws. It was embarrassing giving myself spire.

I highly doubt that. Since the skills are queued, you can press the button 0.5 seconds before the CD is up and it'll activate the millisecond it's ready. The timing really shouldn't be any different to spamming, because when you spam you're still just queueing it. You're just queueing it fifteen times instead of one.

I've played AST since day 1 of 3.0 and I got used to the change within 24 hours. It felt bad at first but once you adjust to the speed change it's godlike.

Oh, trust me, I am riding the GCD every chance I get. I did mention to press the button ahead of time, didn't I? There's just no need to spam the button - pressing it once will queue the action just as surely as pressing it twenty seven times.

Oh so there really was a change. Dunno, bout you, but it feelds more fluid. It's the best thing to ever happen to that card mini-game

IT took me aback at first but it allows me to react more quickly with it, rather than waiting for the animation

Agreed, you can start thinking what to do with it much faster.

I hate the change to card draw. It's awful lol :cool:

After you get used to it, its kind of a little buff tho

It's not like you're just going to do something with a card the instant you draw it. You still need a moment to see what you got and decide what you want to do with it.

This gives you an extra half a second or so to see the card and make a decision while the animation is going off. And that's a good thing imo.

I"ll have to try it out myself, but I don't see how you can make a mistake with cards unless you mean for some reason you have a tendency to spam the "Draw" Button which then turns into a card and then use it right away because of it?

If that's the case then Ninja would be good practice for you, get use to the mudras and learn how to calmly press the inputs. If anything your mind was use to pressing Draw a lot because of the lack of response from it, but now that the response is there you don't have to be as frantic about it. Just remember, 1 click on any abilities that is not a macro does queue it up if used within a certain period of time.

Can't say I even noticed there was a change...but perhaps that's cause I always look at my personal buffs & not my hotbar for my cards...

I noticed the change immediately, but I haven't had any issues with it at all. I like seeing which card I draw so quickly too I can decide immediately what I am going to do with it.
