From what I've done so far, it only works on a dungeon run. A trial did not contribute.
Likewise, 2 dungeon runs caused one of my Runes to light up. If the pattern continues, 2 dungeons per rune, it will take 20 dungeon runs to max out the density,
is the goal fill the symbol letter till its glowing? i got the first symbol glow, verification node at 75% failure chance. Does u mean do 20 dungeon for 1 symbol letter glow? if so damn that gonna be long
FATES give progress but from what I'm hearing it will take 100 FATES to get one Rune. FATES give "vague" increases while dungeons give "Robust" increases.
Tested on FATEs in Northern Than, Middle La Noscea, and Eat Shroud, and did not count towards the anima. Ran FATEs in Azys La, Western Coerthas, and Drav Forelands, and can confirm it does count in these areas, so appears that FATEs only count toward it in 3.0 areas. Also, I am testing the number of FATEs required, currently sitting at 30 and the first mark is still flashing. I will try to update it when I get an official number, but right now, seems like FATE farming is not a viable solution unless you want to grind.
Can you do progress on this step without having finished Some Assembly Required and obtaining the newborn soul stone? I got both quests and I'm like ??????
From what I have seen looks like all rune stones need to light up I spent all day doing that and still on number one. Mainly did dungeons, PvP. Trials and new raids. Over all 8 dungeons , 20 PvP matches 4 raids, 8 Trials.....only change is that light blinks faster and faster -.-
Thanks for the link but looks like it varies by server and times seem to be off as well.seems to be more of a RNG at times.
I have done over 7 dungeon runs @ Roboust light and just 1 Sigil is lit up blinking really fast.
This seems like it will be similar grind to the stage of atma Relic that we needed light.
I got a question though. How much "Aether" do you get per tier? Also how many do you need in total to get all 10 runes on the Anima maxed out to upgrade it? I keep on seeing people talk about doing 20 dungeon runs and that's can't be right. I am doing the A1S runs and I've already gotten 2 runes lit up and the 3rd one starting to blink, but that took like 6 - 8 runs? I can't see this being done in 20 - 25 runs with Robust aether.
Though anyway does anyone know?
Why does it seem like all the good lights only come from savage? The whole point of me doing a relic was ive never been able to get any savage done....
I completed mine today, was already at 2 runes, took exactly 102 A1S completions to get the remaining 8 runes, was a mix of sturdy and robust.
@Laike I appreciate some people like to steer clear of savage content but A1S is just pure dps for 3 minutes, dodge aoes and it's done, with people's current ilvls plus the echo it is so easy. Simular to how people just DPS LoA from the CT raids now, very few mechs you actually have to follow at all. If you want to farm it quickly I'd recommend giving it a go, only issue is it still takes alot of runs to complete all runes.
Apparently according to friends Frontlines is always Roboust more or less,
i have mainly been doing dungeons and Alex (normal) for Relic @ Roboust light and just not 1 have a 2nd sigil starting to blink. So yes some have said this is much quicker then the previous Relic but i question it very much.
Issue with just going the dungeon route ( i watch light windows from reddit) is queue times are so damn long as caster, hell even Expert Roulette now days is 30+mins most times
Now that I'm done with DRK and NIN I was unsure what to do next....then I saw pictures of Aettir! I don't even play PLD but its time to get that Anima to 270.
This relic step is like driving across Kansas - f***ing endless and boring as hell.
At least with umbrites, I could farm lore on any job.
I hated umbrite farming with f***ing passion. I'll take light farming over the hellish umbrite step
Agreed, the lore (and other) grinds may be a bit annoying, but at least you can do them with any and all jobs, plus with bonuses for dailies, etc. it means less runs if you do it over a longer timespan (WTF, you mean you don't have to grind everything out on the first day:confused:)...
That light grind though, whole other level, and after 6 weeks of feeling like I had to tank every damn thing (why did I choose PLD??) I finally gave in and did A1S, 70 f***ing times…
It’s over now though, and I’m back to being able to enjoying the game (including tanking), but yeah, I'd give any of the lore grinds a 10/10 compared to that (Unidentified X step is still a 6/10 though, mainly because it took about twice as long as it reasonably should have).
Light grind is so mind numbingly exhausting. I just did it for my second relic and I'll have to do it again for my next two (I've got a lot of free time clearly) but I bounce back and forth between hating it more and hating the umbrite step more. Even with the nerf it's still just ridiculous. I think the hardest part about light grinding is you basically do the same thing for hours whereas during the umbrite step you at least can do other stuffs.
True, but I would rather spend 20 hours over a few weeks doing a variety of dungeons (and some side activities) than 6 hours repeating the same mindless 2-3 minutes over and over and over...
Which is to say, if the light grind was reasonable outside of a1s / a9s I wouldn’t have minded so much, but that it takes close to 10 weeks of 'normal activity' vs. 6 hours of mindless grind is just ridicules….
If a1s takes 3 minutes for X light, an ‘expert’ dungeon, which is about the same difficultly given the gear levels, and takes approximately 20 minutes, should have given at least 4*X light.
