Cross World PF Layout

As feared, the cross world PF is a cluster F*.
2 hours in and Aether is already looking at 11 of 24 posts NOT related to running content, and it's only going to get worse.

1 thing that should have been caught before hand...Treasure Maps, Fates and Hunts don't even make a lick of sense being here.
The thing with ilvl 300 being required to join parties? Seriously, SE, just do yourself a favor and future proof the feature by not allowing that number to exceed the post creators current ilvl.
And as for random comments / recruitment PF posts... while recruitment posts make good sense, maybe consider making an official PF section for that, but have it set so custom comments have an option to be hidden for everyone not interested in finding 'other' things in the PF.

Cross server crafting and content sales......ridiculous notions.... although I guess sales could work via paypal or something.....still shameful

You do realize there are filters on top right? So you can click on for example Trials and you will see only those.

I've seen loads of people say that Aether's Data Center Party Finder would be a mess.
I'm happy about there being a Data Center finder, means I don't have to stay on Tonberry which is like Aether-lite.

I think a lot of it is that the PF is set by default to 'Recruit Members Across Data Center' , so most people simply haven't found that check box yet to keeps thing in world only, where appropriate.

They've already covered that. From the patch notes:

I think you're looking at all PF listings. There are on-world ones there as well.

Isn't that what that "Other" button does at the right of all the specific categories?

If anything, I'd just have the ability t resize that window. Only being able to se 9,5 duties at once means a lot of scrolling instead of just skimming the entire list in one go.

Yep , you're right. I took another look at it, and EVERY PF listing on your world, is automatically duplicated into the Data Center list. I saw the Treasure Hunt under Data Center in my screenshot, and didn't consider that things NOT applicable to cross world party finder, would actually appear under the area for cross world PF. Also, I thought that 'flower' symbol meant it was a listing from another server, but I'm seeing 4 without flowers in my screenshot with only (2) listed for World.

A little more looking at the window and I've now realized that all posts without a flower are indeed from your world. The ones that are for World only will have the recruiter name in White, and recruiter name in Blue will be anything open to cross world. Knowing this difference in color codes I can safely assume that I'll never use the World list for PF ever again. I wonder how long until SE removes the Raid Finder, kinda doesn't serve a purpose anymore.

You mean how Raid Finder is used to queue for current raids and extreme primals?

You can resize by clicking the window and pressing CTRL button + home

Wrong kind of resize, I mean being able to pull the bottom down so you can see more of the list at once, like this mockup:

One change that I think would help is to make the cross-world option unchecked by default.

I think a lot of people just make their PFs using mostly the default options. Especially the ones that are just a comment. There is a lot of PFs that show up, such as people offering to sell things, where you can't even fulfill their request outside of their own server. So if the default option was to make the PF show up only on your own server, you might see less of these showing up in the cross-world list.

It would be nice if you could flip the list either ascending or descending in time remaining. At the moment you have to refresh and scroll down to find the newest parties scrolling past all the ones I didnt want to join everytime.

It would be nice if the category buttons (dungeon, guildhest, raid, PvP, Hunt, etc) acted as checkboxes rather than radio buttons. Let us select any combination of them we're interested in rather than just selecting one at a time or "All". (Include "check all" and "clear all" buttons as shortcuts, but let us then check individual categories we're interested in or un-check individual categories we're not interested in.)
