It'll keep you busy for a day. It's pretty damn good.
Dragon Age: Inquisition. You'll forget all about FF14 for a bit
Witcher 3, enough said
Get a friend and play some Lethal League.
You won't regret your purchase.
If you're a fan of tough-as-nails rogue-likes with some unique systems, try Darkest Dungeon.
The full release is great. Just this morning I (finally) ran a unique mission they added after launch where Brigands attack the Hamlet (one of the rarer Town Events, by my understanding). Barely made it out of there, but I consider it a victory if the worst outcome is a paranoid Houndmaster, a selfish Leper, and a Graverobber with a nasty tapeworm. It's the little things that count, y'know? =P
If you have PS3, The Stick of Truth. That game is awesome.
Divinity Original Sin 2:

Can be played fully in co-op also, this goes for first game too.
Valkyria Chronicles:

For great story/characters and unique gameplay/etc.
Company of Heroes 2 if you like RTS-games:

Borderlands 2 - this game is just too great. Especially the last "fantasy" DLC xD

I am Setsuna - if you want to play awesome Chrono Trigger-like JRPG:

Try Tales of Berseria Demo and if you liked it, you can either purchase Berseria to play later or purchase previous game -> Tales of Zestiria

Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster - try the classic FF. It's great. (I still own my Platinum copy for Playstation 2 and both disc and my PS2 still work)

That's all for now.
You can always fire up an emulator. After XV started playing FXII Zodiac Age (on 4k no less) and i'm not ashamed to admit i liked it alot more. But i always liked XII anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you want some fun games and cheap (or free) check out the itch.io app . Some are pretty fun like Breach and Clean or Ravenhill.
Not sure how much stronger it is, but Witcher 3 is surprisingly optimized if it's even able to run on my card at the settings it can.
If you already have it, can't hurt to give it a try if you can get it downloaded in a decent amount of time.
Stardew Valley is fun if you don't have anywhere to be for the next 5 days or so.

A lesser known game for those that like both fast-paced hack-n-slash games and metroidvania platforming and exploration.
Valdis Story: Abyssal City

Plenty of optional bosses to kick your ass and locations to search and discover.
Let's add Bastion to the list: very unique and great experience.

If, in addition to RPG's and action games, you happen to like Tower Defense games, you should consider trying Gemcraft : Chasing Shadows. You can either buy it on Steam or play it for free (it has a $5 charge to unlock one gem type and a couple of stages, but is perfectly playable without spending that money) on places like armorgames or kongregate. Best TD game I know of.
I'l throw 3 another really great Tower Defense games, that i fully completed recently(in 2016):
Kingdom Rush + next game in the series:

I believe you can play it for free on Mobile devices.
Prime World: Defenders
http://store.steampowered.com/app/235360/
Randomized card(tower) drops after a mission, daily quests, a lot of towers to collect and upgrade + story mode is fairly balanced/voiced cutscenes/etc.
Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten (DX edition)

This game is just too hilarious overall, there's a NG+ and additional story elements in NG+, a lot of equipment/units/leveling and also very interesting Units skill builds. Want an Armor Penetration Archer with AoE? Or a Poison Archer with high critical chance? The choice is there.
World of Final Fantasy
I've been playing FFV today. want to get a taste of Red Mage before stormblood lol
All of the ADGQ VODs? I still haven't watched everything on my Watch Later XD. Wind Waker HD was 4 hours long XD, they had so many good events and games played. There was a 4+ hour long Final Fantasy 1 stream too :).
I am actually just watching streams without my 3.5 and Garo event. HoTS Open Division is taking my Dragon Quest 7 play time XD.
I have been playing through every MegaMan from 1-6 with the free PSN+ membership on PS4.
Then I have burned rubber and asphalt in Driveclub on roads of Norway
And lastly I raided some tombs ;)
If you want to waste one day.
You could try the free modules in DCS:world. Without a joystick I can imagine that being a nightmare, but I'm sure you can at the very least learn a thing or two about jets. The free one is a simple flight model one and there is no need to worry about physically clicking on 100+ switches and buttons in the thing.
Blizzard's heroes of the storm is a free, easy to pick up moba if that's your thing or maybe hearthstone, but I personally can't stand that. Maybe it'll keep you busy for one day. Shadowverse is a more "anime styled" alternative to that on steam, free also.
Paladins is free on steam, similar to overwatch from the looks of it.
OR just watch documentaries online. Those make hours fly by. Just look for something that interests you and I'm sure you'll find something related to that. Might be a good day to go out for a run, clean up the house, get things done that you "should do, but don't feel like it" and so on. Get to it.
I started the download for the NieR Automata demo before I left for work today, looks pretty good. I might be riding that for a while after the release in March while I'm waiting for Stormblood.
If you want another mmo give ESO a shot. It has made leaps and bounds from its original release and can be quite fun nowadays.
Outside that I am playing my nes and snes today during breaks from getting a jump on the insane amount of reading I have this semester. XV hasn't sucked me in at all really and I am all Witchered and Skyrimed out these days.
FFXI
