After running the Vault about 15 times without seeing the NIN body drop from the last boss, I've gone mad. Something has to be done about this. There are so many amazing looking pieces of gear lost to unlucky RNG.
I have multiple ideas to help people in the true end game of Glamour.
- Make Dungeon Gear Sets available from a vendor for tokens acquired by beating the dungeon. A reasonable amount would be 5-10 Tokens for body and legs, 3-6 for feet, gloves and head.
- Make sets available for crafters. No need for dyable versions. Specialist craft maybe?
- Increase drop rates/Increase amount of loot dropped. The insane part is the sheer amount of drops your desired piece have to compete with to drop.
- Let us Unsynch HW Dungeons. I don't like this idea, it removes people from the regular dungeon queue.
Anyway! Fighting for the real end game, this is a concern I have about dungeon gear sets. I'd love a discussion!

While I would love a token system for sure, there is at least hope for your second point since they took gear designs from former ARR dungeons and turned them into crafted gear pieces for HW leveling gear... but yes, tokens, pretty please...?

Frankly, instead of adding another set of token garbage they should just let us buy them with Tomestones once you hit 60. All under 60 dungeons could use Poetics, and then everything that is above 60 excluding expert roulette could use whatever tomes don't currently have a weekly cap. Expert could use most relevant tomes.
Though increasing the amount of loot that is obtainable per dungeon run is not a bad idea either. -

I'm a fan of the Tomestone idea for sure! Something to spend all those Lore tomes on. Poetics being the ARR tomestones would only be used for 1-50 Dungeon sets. Lore for 51-60.
Increasing the amount of loot is a good idea mostly cause it won't decrease people in the queue for those dungeons. -

They usually bring back dungeon gear later as a crafted option that you can dye. They probably just waiting to reuse some of the designs in stormblood.

Oh, this has been asked for before, and it's totally an issue that they need to deal with.
Which I hope that they remove "replica" from their names, because It just feels like it cheapens them or something. Just let the dungeon gear be craftable and purchasable on the marketboard. Especially, for the lv50-60 dungeons and raids.Quote:

what about an NPC where you can exchange the armor pieces for another piece of the same item-slot? let's say you have got the tank chest, but you want the ninja chest. then you go with your tank chest to the NPC and exchange it for the ninja chest (only doable at 0% soul binding of course). -

I mean, why not add a poetics reward for running HW levelling dungeons at lv60? It doesn't even need to be equivalent to the highest end lv50 dungeons, even 50 petics would be better than nothing. Then that would tie into the "purchase gear with tomes" idea.
Although personally, the antique gear idea is my favourite. I used to love running snowcloak because I could just trade the pieces for whatever desynth I was levelling at the time, rather than just praying that the gear was a) what I wanted and b) I would win it. As it stands basically nobody takes the antique gear.
However, I can see an issue in that people running dungeons at-level do like to equip drops that are better than current as they acquire them, so I don't think that would work for levelling dungeons. Tint's idea would solve that, though. -

And the Antique items currently in the game just trades for the Artifact Gear which you get for free at lvl 50 anyway. I'll say I prefer the crafting idea the most, with a small change to prevent the levelling gear from being useless, I'd put the crafted items at lvl 50 and lvl 60.
