Just hope it's not the case.
oh... and hope it has nothing to do with making it to the top of the Feast ranking.

It won't. They're going to be achievement based (likely number of wins), and since they're allowing the ability to queue without grand company restrictions, it wouldn't make sense to tie them to GCs.
The first thing I'm doing when the patch hits is non stop PVP to unlock all the mounts this time. Still trying now but I'm getting a match ever 1 1/2 to 2 hours now.
what if they're tied to doing Feast as tank/dd/healer? that'll be terrible too. I hate the Feast.
They will not because they will never force to level a certain job just for the event.
Anyways... There are 2 mounts which are tied to the Feast this season, for Top 100 solo and Top 30 pre-made. If you don't play The Feast you will likely permanently miss them for your collection so it'll never be complete. After it's gone, it's gone, it'll not appear in the cash shop later. So if you'll miss a couple more from the event it's not a big deal really, just accept that pvp is not your thing and move on.
Evangela prefers Frontlines, to be specific.
And we don't yet know what the criteria for earning them via achievement is. However as it could possibly conflict with currently planned rewards for the Feast, I doubt the mounts will be tied to one specific mode either.
It will probably be win based on what class you play. Tank/heals/dps
I have been expired for a while now, but last I heard they were removing GC PvP restrictions from the game for the coming expansion. Unless that has changed, it just wouldn't make sense to add a new achievement for them ... That said, it also wouldn't be the first time SE did something that did not make sense. I suppose they could justify it by saying that we still have plenty of time between now and Stormblood, but that would be a pretty crummy thing to do.
I think, in the GARO franchise, they belong to the dark knight/warrior, the paladin and the lancer (our versions of the GARO characters). I would hope they're not locked specifically to those jobs.
Why do people keep assuming gc restrictions will be moved? In upcoming patch for partyfinder, even across multi-server, notes say nothing about friend/potential members no longer having to be in the same GC for FL.....unless I just missed something.
Gouten (the gold horse) belongs to Garo, The Golden Knight. Ginga (The silver horse) belongs to Zero (the ninja armor from the event) and the huge one whose name escapes me belongs to Kiba (the dark knight)
If Amemiya has a say in things, he will try to at least have gaining Gouten fit in theme with how Garo obtains Gouten. I.E kill 100 horrors and face the trial of inner shadows. Most likely, you will get Gouten by getting 100 kills in PVP. That's my guess for the gold horse at least. Ginga maybe 200 kills and dark horse mcbirdtail...well idk about that.
It was announced previously in a live letter that GC restrictions are being removed as a test for what they have planned for 4.0 as seen here.
Exactly this.
If I remember correctly, the reasons they gave were that they wanted to take PvP in a different direction with the expansion with more diverse varieties of game modes which would be more difficult to achieve with GC restrictions in place ... I would assume that means that we can expect to see two sided Frontlines come 4.0, but they haven't said anything definitive yet. I know that Capture the Flag has been the most requested mode since FL first came out, so that would be my first assumption. They could also be going with a more MOBA styled lane push, since that would work with only two teams instead of three, but we won't know for sure until 4.0 ...
Of course, this decision had absolutely nothing to do with queue times being total crap. The fact that queue times would get better is just a happy coincidence, of course.
