I don't know if I'm the only one will complain this, but this emote almost same with SCH/SMN's victory pose. That means (imo) the pose isn't unique anymore. What do you guys thought?

I dont think arcanists should hold the monopoly over adjusting glasses.
I'm sorry but no lol... when was this EVER unique for SCH/SMN? NPCs have been using this emote and various other emotes that are part of the SCH/SMN victory/battle emotes WAAAY before we ever got those emotes for our characters.
If anything we're the ones stealing unique emotes from the NPCs... poor NPCs.
My intention is I don't want it happens again like Highlander's old pose got copycat by Hildybrand. It was "kinda" hurt me as highlander :(
I understand where you are coming from and I feel a little odd about it also D: but what also feels odd is adjusting glasses on my summoner's face that aren't there 90% of the time. I think opening the emote up to players who really do glamour glasses on themselves, regardless of their class/job, makes a little more sense in the long run. If anything maybe SE can look into a new emote for arcanist but it would be a pretty low priority thing I would think D:
The bit of the adjusting glasses int he /bstance for smn/sch is only a tiny portion of the /bstance emote itself, unlike the highlander/hildy emotes.
I wear glasses IRL and have for most of my life. When I'm not wearing them, I still occasionally touch the bridge of my nose to adjust glasses that aren't there. It just becomes a reflex action if you're used to normally wearing them. I just figure that's what's happening with the emote if your character doesn't have glasses on at the time. Arcanists (of any specialty) are assumed to spend enough of their time wearing reading glasses that it's become a habit.
Wait, there's a fixing glasses emote!? What!?
Tell me more, please!
My complaint is we have this but we still don't have a basic open mouthed grin, a snarky sarcastic side-smile, or even a more angry looking expression. Could also get some of the various NPC animations as persistent emotes for RP.
Like I'd rather we get those, honestly.
I've always hated the SCH/SMN poses anyway. Not just because they couldn't be bothered to make a different pose for each job, but because like most of the emotes for females, everything has to be "omg kawaii." If this thread somehow gets them to change those poses, then I'm all for it, let's make some noise.
Nothing will probably come of this though so...meh? I guess?
An "adjust glasses" emote is coming with patch 3.5. While there are no details yet on how the emote is acquired, I would be shocked if it's not a reward for completing the Scholisticate sidequests, given that the game's preeminent glasses-adjusting NPC is a major player in that questline. So, if you've been neglecting that sidequest, it might be a good time to get crackin'!
Dose it really matter that much if it's unique or not for SCH/SMN? :p
All classes races should be able to get it it's just a fun thing and it's good that they're adding it for anyone and everyone.
Glasses are not SMN/SCH specific, so no, I could not care less.
We haven't even seen the final emote yet and people already complaining... oh because it has to do with glasses? Right... I wanna complain then that any spectacles/glasses used for glamour hurt the SCH's image clearly defined by having short eyesight. Glasses should be exclusive for scholars!
Whilst you are correct the issue in that case was actually very similar to what the OP is describing here.
Hildibrand's trademark pose (which was actually just the Highlander /pose with a small added detail) ended up being given as a quest reward to all races, but meant that the Highlander race no longer had a unique racial /pose emote.
Now the main flourish of the SMN/SCH /bstance emote is being given to all players as well. It doesn't personally bother me but the scenario is very similar, and the the Highlander situation did actually get addressed by SE eventually so I imagine they may here as well.
Personally the combat stance emotes always bugged me as a SMN since they were so obviously intended for SCH specifically. SMNs don't write text in their grimoires the way SCHs do; they draw various arcane geometries. They also don't have glasses built into their AF sets so the /glasses component is really out of place for the job. I would be more than happy to see the SMN combat stance emotes changed regardless to be honest.
Complaining is the true FFXIV endgame.
People seem to be regulating the battle stance to SCH/SMN, which, while that is true, the stance is for Arcanist, thats why they are the same. And Arcanists are depicted with glasses as well. That's why people say SCH makes more sense over SMN. But as a Scholar main, i dont really mind this, who uses the battle stance emote anyway.
