I don't understand why he said it is not coming late November is an delay when it says on the road map late Nov-early Dec.
Letter was a sucess because of:)Quote:
but I wanted to share with you that the goobbue mount is now functional.
10 days delay (which will still be withing roadmap time) isnt too bad, but this could be another monster patch let the size assuptions begin :)
/assist in 1.20.
patch of the year
Interesting to see all the plans in store there, but a bit of a letdown they didn't cover stuff regarding the purpose of some of these changes.
Um, great. What about info on the reasoning for some of your planned changes to some classes, the removal of enfeebling spells, the decision to separate elemental spells between Conjurer and Thaumaturge? How will some of these changes affect the lore, how may it affect Gridania's storyline? I know it'll come in due time, but there's a lot of unanswered questions here that we're still left in the dark about. I forget the other questions people had (Some were very good and valid ones too.) but I kind of hoped the next letter would touch up upon these thoughts.Quote:
Oh, a slight tangent, but I wanted to share with you that the goobbue mount is now functional.
Shed me a light here, what's the /assist command supposed to do?
"1.20 Revival of action queuing" THANK GAWD.
Yeah they have odd wording but they probably mean that what people were led to believe is that they could have gotten the patch out by late November but there is a delay "to that date". Which isn't really a delay but yeah...
They said this with 1.19 too and it was just as confusing.
I wonder why they even bother giving these timeframes instead of just stating the last possible date in their schedule would be the day of the patch. I don't think they will ever manage to get a patch out by the beginning of the timeline given.
from my exp, giving out "time-frame-without-a-clear-ETA" is better than give out a clear ETA for forum like this one where ppl go rage over small thing, if they happen to go over the ETA, thing will get worst
the letter say "roughly 10 days", so it could be less or more no clear ETA
no more slot cost for accessories == me happy!
I've been wanting a /assist command this whole time. I'm very pleased at that.
Pretty underwhelmed.
Considering this is the patch that they release and ask for subscriptions, I'd expect something more than a Mog battle.
I think they should ask for payments when the job system goes live. I don't thinkI'll pay, not with Skyrim, SWTOR etc out over winter.
Adding PC Search and Auction should have been done a year ago and shoudln't really be a focus of a patch. We still need content.
Will hold a candle for 2.0 next I think. See you all in 2012
goobbue mount? really, god please let it be a joke......I mean I understand people wanting other mounts because "other MMOs have them" but come on, this is Final Fantasy, you ride Chocobos! Thats it -.-
Not worried/annoyed the slightest by the delay.
Some of the things mentioned look particularly interesting, supposing they'll work up fine.
The new market wards will be very similar to an Auction House, which means they won't be implementing a real action house before 2.0 but we already knew that, didn't we? The 1.20 market wards feel good enough on paper, I can't complain.
The UI additions too seem very interesting just like the new commands, the search function etc. It's pretty surprising some of these weren't implemented at start, so it's good to see they're finally becoming real.
I'm also excited to see the new leves, the grand companies ones and the fixes to the old ones, as well as the new content (dark moogle etc).
All in all it feels like a great patch, but the class reforms still worry me a lot.
While in reality there doesn't seem to be too many troubles (except for Disciples of Magic, the situation is pretty messy there), it's the "logic behind it" that worries me a bit.
Doesn't really make sense to me, and therefore it worries me when I think about the future and the other possible developments from now 'til 2.0
Sometimes it really feels I'm betatesting a game instead than playing (soon paying) for a market-released one.
the goobbue mount thing has to be yoshi having a laugh at our expense, hes a bigger troll than some of the trolls on here
This letter confirmed AF gears released with jobs in 1.21. I'm even more excited for it now. :)
/assist is only useful if you having something to /assist with.
On another note the slot cost removal is nice save for and except I reserve final judgement until I see it because there is that small part about them re-doing the way what (or rather how much) you can wear is determined. Hopefully that just means the worst case scenario is that you can't fill all your slots until 50, which is ok.
Also, the further improvements to MWs are always welcome.
Keep up the great work!
edit: re: the above poster's comment. Yes. Anything that makes those who would tar and feather WoW at ever opportunity because it's fashionable apparently and nerd rage despite the fact that if millions of people play it it can't be nearly as awful as they make it out to be when SE does anything that can be (rightly or wrongly) associated with it is always hilarious.
From the letter:
Some of you are probably wondering, when exactly will billing commence? There’s no need to worry here, as the extended free trial period won’t end until 1.20 has been out for a while. We’ll have the details of billing, including the fee, ready to announce by early December, so please sit tight for just a while longer.
Giving us the hint that they may not be charging full price right away?
Tradition is fine, and it's not like chocobos are going away or won't be getting a lot of love and attention in the future. (At least, no one's said anything about custom goobbue armor, or different colored goobbue yet.) My comment was just a response to the verbal stamping of the foot, "that's just the ways things have been, and that's just how they should always be."
That being said, I'd like to know how the story will progress with us getting a tamed monster to ride. Chocobos have always been in Final Fantasy so they don't have to spend much time, if any, explaining them away. Any new mounts will need to have some type of back story. Otherwise, if it's not going to make sense, I just want a car mount.
Sorry, I do not understand the rage over this patch content. This is everything that they said that they were going to do in the roadmap........plus some.
Shut down command is full of win. 3 new emotes wont hurt. Buying from item menu is good. Able to select multiple items is good. Ability to leave town on personal chocobo is win. Trying to name a few things I didn't see ppl post about. Finally delay doesn't bother me as I wasn't expecting it this month anyway. Also 1.20 will be out for a while before they charge so I thinking sometime in January is when that takes place. Can we now relax about paying now? Some of you never intend to pay no matter what they do so enjoy swtor and let that be the end of it. For those that actually play the 7th umbral quests begin this patch yay!!!
[QUOTE=PrettyPrincess;457729]We've known this since the last live letter[/QUOT
Sorry, must have missed that in the posted recaps of the live session.
so besides the moogle fight there really isnt much there for actual content. As much as i like all the other fixes, my huge issue with the game is having little to do. So its getting delayed (mainly because...well shit servers excuse) and really people will be bored as shit after a week of this patch, then we get to start paying......yah i just cant pay for content that will be completed to death in max 48hrs.
