Well to be fair, the best players are better than the actual testers that SE hire for FF14 so we can come up with better rotations.

Despite my critical remarks of late, I do appreciate that the devs really are passionate about the game, even if it seems like they're not always given the time or the budget necessary to make some of their more grandiose aspirations a reality. You can tell in interviews and streams and stuff with Yoshi-P that he really is trying to create a game that a lot of people enjoy, despite what probably seem like seas of dissenting feedback from all sides.

EDIT: on a cynical note though, one could argue that in his bid to avoid the stereotype of "overpowered new class in an MMO", he UNDERtuned DRK/AST/MCH quite a bit at HW launch. Perhaps some of it was players trying to learn the class (I never felt as though AST was as bad as the original doomsayers portended), but looking at the subsequent buffs to MCH and AST at least it's pretty clear that they weren't really being represented for content the way the devs wanted them to be. Cynical, as I said, but I don't think they'll be able to "win" with RDM - even if it comes out wholly average in the grand scheme of things, people will still complain because all new MMO classes are set up with unreasonable amounts of hype around them.

It may come out like MCH, very underpowered. People will use it regardless

Definitely a double edged sword, as we saw with the Heavensward jobs. If the new jobs aren't immediately seen as superior to the old jobs, people tend to think they're underpowered. Thankfully, now that folks have gotten used to those jobs, the negative stigma (for the most part) has disappeared.

Lore hit it square on the nail. Judgement is best reserved until down the line.

I know brown-nosing is a part of the Hellsguard lore, but I'm a Lalafell.

I wonder why they don't release strategy guides on how to play your class the best. I mean, don't they want this in the end? As guide heavy as NA is all the time, it'd sure be nice to actually have official answers on this topic. I don't mean stat definitions, I mean like the testers used x rotation and it seemed to work the best kind of guides.

Because they want people to figure it out themselves and the community usually does a better job at explaining at how things work or how to use something. That or they encourage everyone to help each other, which is how MMOs should be.

On that I agree. MMO standing for "Massive Multiplayer Online" means it should bring in interaction with other players. That should mean helping each other, trying to work together, etc. On Odin at least, that mostly seems to be the case, that everyone works together to support each other.

Only AST was the real problematic HW Job at launch, really. DRK's issue was more on players trying to approach it like PLD, to which I'd say the outlook towards the Job changed after people saw it getting the World First A3S clear, plus A4S' design giving it some advantage over PLD. So in that vein, if RDM can provide some form of utility that contributes to increased raid DPS then there will be a desire for them in groups. Well, folks who are screaming at me in df aren't being very helpful, and the fc I play with is casual, and as I'm rather inclined to listen to what the devs say vs the salty NA folks who sometimes come out incorrect (Please see MCH and Y-P saying to basically gitgud upon its release) it'd be helpful if we had some official hints. maybe not complete rotation but some input would be appreciated.

I think if there's too much misinformation going round then Yoshi will step in, but they'd rather leave it up to the community at first. Generally speaking, they base decisions more off their Japanese playerbase, which is a heck of a lot different to the EU/NA playerbase, so I feel even the JP playerbase must have been getting MCH completely wrong for Yoshi to step in like he did.

Yes you're seeing my point. They're expecting a lot out of NA and I certainly do not speak Japanese (Although I am doing my best to learn!) and I do not have access to a guide for the (for example) skill speed monk that Y-P mentioned a while back to point out the difference between the NA and JP playerbase.
