Square Enix, why is this year's Heaventurn the same as last year's?

The only thing that is different is that we get Chocobo helmets. Other than that, it is the exact same thing. How lazy could you possibly be? If you can't give us something for Heavensturn that is different, just stop doing it.

And I stand by what I said last year about cocks. That is you guys alright.

Sure, but a new event pleases both veterans and new players whereas rehashing an old event only pleases new players.

I had alot of fun. Reviving all the people which either didn't care or didn't know what to do was quite a blast ;)

I also loved the mochi making aspect of last festival :). It would be nice if they returned similar aspects back to the events. It's nice to see things like that again.

I would like it if it turned into a tradition every year. I enjoyed those fates a lot last year, glad to have a chance to do them again.

Meh. I cant say it's particularly interesting but at the same time I wasn't expecting a lot and the Starlight festival was fun. I always take these festivals as small filler stuff.

What I find more annoying isn't the fact they repeated it - its that the the content can be rehashed into the Gold Saucer so it can be used all-year around. Imagine the current event's FATE being turned into a new GATE or a new mini-game that you can play with a few people with scoring (who gets the most before everyone dies wins etc).

All of the seasonal events have been lackluster since the first 1 or 2 cycles of events. Not surprised by this at all.

I got to see Jiro again so it was all good.

I actually enjoy the fate myself, wish it was around more often or used in other things like Goldsaucer. Just shame I don't think I'll ever actually use the helmets but I got it just in case I find a use.

I haven't actually done the event yet, but if it is indeed the same as last year, that's just lazy. That simple, boring fate of evading the hammer was already lackluster last year, when it was "new".

I wouldn't say seasonal events got worse in general - actually, nearly all seasonal events this year were great or even amazing (Valentione's with getting your fortune read with other players, Easter with all the fun minigames of hunting the big egg, evading egg thieves and memorizing the egg patterns, Little Ladies' Day with the lovely Girl Group and serverwide progression, Gold Saucer Celebration with a very cool detective style game with tons of different endings, The Rising with all the funny storylines and a cool 1.0 recap, absolutely amazing Halloween Haunted House and lately Starlight with so many cute little dream sequences :o).
They all had lots of replay value, didn't involve Fates (after we complained a lot during 2015 that every seasonal event is always just fates) and were generally fun to do. If Yo-kai Watch hadn't left many people very bitter and burned out, the events this year would all have been great. Except for Heavensturn now, which people complained about already even before it just got copied from the year before ~v~

SE could have ended this year on a high note, fitting with all the other amazing events this year. But nope. It's a boring one-time Fate without replay value =.=

I thought it was just to short and simple. I literally did 1 turn in with the fate on my alt (got there just as it was ending) and still got credit.

Plus there was just really nothing to it. Even the story, if you can call it that, felt thrown together. I don't mind if they rehash old events, but it felt like they forgot about this one (and starlight celebration too frankly) and just threw something together quick at 4 o'clock on a Friday.

I'm less upset about the repeated fate and more that the simple solution wasn't an option or even addressed; Just tell the guy to stop calling them cocks.

Ive done every event since launch and even some in 1.0. I shall take back part of what I said since the All Saints Wake slipped my mind and was fairly decent still a short quest though. (blame it on the alcohol)

Honestly I would have just liked a bit more. Like I dunno, like food that can be collected from the FATE? The vendor sells gathering food, so maybe mochi for crafting?

Also some cock fireworks would have been cool.

I was happy you could buy the music instead of it being quest based so I wouldn't have to do it on my alts. It's certainly not one of my favorite events so I only did it on my main. It's more of a Japanese thing so I can respect that. I enjoyed Halloween and Christmas this year so that's a big plus for me.

There were imps in the cities you could talk to to be temporarily transfigured into monsters and some important npcs like the GC leaders.

I wish they would have given us another type of hat instead of the one they are going to give with this even.

Just a small point of contention here. For those of you claiming that people should "Shut up and enjoy your free stuff", for a New Year's event, might I remind you all that other MMOs do similar events as well, and actually update their events? Just a thought, really, before you act like we should be grateful for getting anything at all. Holiday events are a genre standard. So, no. People actually do have a right to complain about the fact that their game fails to hold up to standards set across many, many other games.

I think it more has to do with the tradition of rice pounding. If you even look at the text, you literally have the option to say you're familiar with it. It's all about tradition. I don't mind it being the same.
