Do you want Scholar leg glamours? And how do you think they'd work?
i need beyonce legs so yes pls let me glamour it
You mean scholar egi glamours? Well scholars don't really use egis so I supposed fairy glamour would be the thing for them.
Personally a fairy glamour doesn't sit well with me but that is mainly because the SCH fairy is literally a named character in the game while SMN egis are aetheric constructs the SMN creates with their own Aether. I supposed that is a lore reason and so it probably wouldn't count for most people but never the less it would probably be something that bothered me if it existed.
Well, it already exists - you can glamour over your Anima and you can project your Anima onto other weapons. It's no less a "living being" as the fairy at this point. You can also ditch or destroy your Anima freely, put it on the retainer or do god knows what with it. I'm expecting a hashtag campaign #FreeAnima! or #AnimaLivesMatter! any minute now.
When it comes to Scholar Fairies, really only one glamour (or recolor I guess) comes to mind.

Granted for story reasons, which I won't spoil, maybe no? Yet all that comes to mind to me.
Might not happen because of lore, but I'm hoping for a male fairy.
Helios and Oberon, make it happen!
I want a healing carbuncle.
I want a healing Carbuncle, and Airy/Anne glamours where the fairies glow blue/purple respectively.
Pet Glamour and SCH (Live Letter)
I asked this before. :[ Devs are ignoring it.
Considering SCH applies Shields and Carbuncles originated as a summon that applied Reflect, it wouldn't be too off flavor-wise.

I'll remain hopeful.
If not a full pet glamor system for Scholar pets, then how about an alternate costume for Eos and Selene? I mean I actually can't see a reason not to use a white carbuncle with a different colored gem in it's forehead to represent Eos or Selene, and it's not like the name would change, only the appearance.
It just seems rather stupid and illogical that Arcanists who take the more destructive path (aka Summoners) have access to glamours for their summons, but Scholars do not, despite both being offshoots of Arcanist which is the origination of the summoning abilities. I've always found it odd that both Scholars and Summoners lose the ability to summon the carbuncles anyway. Shouldn't those pets still be available to Scholar and Summoner? It's not like PLD loses the ability to use RoH that they gained while GLD is it? So why do Scholars and Summoners lose the abilities to summon carbuncles?
I had always hoped Carbuncle would return to SMN as a defensive (self-)buff pet, given his nature as a summon throughout FF history.
My hope for 4.0 is that SCH and SMN are split and reworked (not alone in this) to fix the balancing problem and make each thematically appropriate. This would mean that SCH would start with a fairy, and SMN would be the sole owner of Carbuncle. Scholar having a historically Summoner-only spell/pet would then be out of the question, and make more sense. At that point, SMN could have a buffing pet (if anything like FFXI, also mediocre healing pet) to round out the job.
They've clearly stated that ACN branching to SMN/SCH was a big mistake that lead to many balancing hurdles. I hope they get around to reworking them when they said they wanted to take jobs back to their roots.
(To any response saying SMN is fun and balanced and fine, I understand. But it's not SMN, and I understand FFXIV is it's own game, but it's not SMN. I understand FFXIV is an MMO, but this SMN is not SMN. If I made blm an elemental potion thrower, with aspected alchemical explosions, it wouldn't be very "black mage". Sure there would be elements of FF BLM, but it isn't gratifying to whip up a fire potion, toss it, and have it do a small flame. That's what Egis are to SMN right now. Deathflare is a step in the right direction, but there's a long way to go to making SMN gratifying, and poison/disease is not it.)
Okay, I don't want this to come accross as mean, but please no do not start this topic up again, it just finally died. SE made a mistake spliting Arcanist into Summoner and Scholar, they admit that, but the 2 jobs aren't being split, that would take too much time to rework. Also, there is no true Summoner in any FF game, end of story. Just because its not the Summoner you invisioned doesn't mean it isn't one. People are already bitching about how RDM isn't a true RDM and the job was just revealed. And Yoshi-P even stated,"RDM is different in every FF game" and this will be XIV's incarnation. Yes there were issues with Summoner in ARR, and yes HW fixed those issues a bit, but please stop the whole "its not a true summoner" grip because the series has never had one, every incarnation is different.
I mean, recolors and stuff would be nice. Or glamouring to the fairy you get from the Angel Feather limit break.

(Sorry for the poor quality. Camera would not focus on the image.)
Where's that Angel Feathers art from, out of curiosity? Is there any accompanying info you'd be willing to share?
I actually think it is really unfair to SCHs, and a waste of resources, to create an entire pet glamour system and only apply it to one of the three pet jobs (I understand not applying it to MCH, but SCH is very viable). I hope the devs reconsider this, and actually use this system to its fullest potential.
To the people saying about lore, lore can be changed and expanded. Nymian technology given to the player in order allow Lily to more easily traverse the world undetected. The technology works like a glamour prism and changes Lilys aetherial signiture to allow her to blend in. (took 2 minutes to think of and is horribly hashed together, the devs can do even better). If you think that lore suggestion is stupid and not viable (spoilers for the beast tribe ally quest):
That quest had a sylph that disguised herself as a human, and SCH fairy glamour makes no sense in the lore?
Again, I'm all for SCH to get glamour on their fairies but lorely speaking (yeah, don't know if the expresion is correct but I like it ^^") it would not work and, as it means more work for SE, I would not be surprised if they use this as a excuse :/
Lilly is a construct. She is summoned just like a carbuncle, stitched together with astral and umbral aether... but shes special. She has memories and a tiny little personality. Why? As the scholar, we are using our job stone as a flash drive for Lilly's memories. We aren't summoning some entity from another world. She is an advanced learning carbuncle of our predecessors' design that stores her experiences into the job stone.
Lilly is her memory, not her form.
Considering how this is merely SE's way of compensating for not providing new playable Pets, if things had gone as intended SCHs would've been stuck with same two Pets regardless whilst SMNs would've had a wider choice. Making it SMN only works because that Job's theme (unlike SCH) is having access to multiple Pets, which they're representing via this glamour system, so to call it 'unfair' is silly. Also nothing's really stopping you from playing SMN if you like seeing the Carbuncles so much.
Carbuncles are stones given aether and form.
Egis are the energy from a primal that have tainted part of a being's soul (probably misread or misunderstood what the book was saying).
Faeries are memories of past mages given life through aether, using the stone as an anchor.
Lily was the name of Surito Carito's faerie from his particular Soul of the Scholar that we find. Lily is a special case as she does have a personality and intelligence, but cannot communicate.
Not a ghost. Your job crystal, like Soul of the Scholar, holds memories of previous owners. The faeries are just another part of the memories- just like the skills that you unlock along the way. It's like like the memory of this person turns into the faerie or the skill, just their knowledge of the skill when we've attained a high enough aptitude. Notice from level 52 to 60 it's the soul crystal teaching us and not the NPCs surrounding the job quests.
For lack of a better explanation, yes, the faeries are hollow and stupid just as much as carbuncles are, sans for Lily.
The name Oberon is completely unrelated to Eos, Selene and Helios.
Why not a create your own fairy glamour system?
That would be awesome, a real pain to create i guess but still pretty cool. Don't think it would ever happen though, they'll make us use a text command for egi glam instead of a "real" system, I think it shows us how pissed they are about that xD
Maybe they could start with a glam of each other ? I really love what Selene looks like but most of the time have to use Eos :/
Dunno how glam would work per say. I'd almost say actual glamor as in literally getting clothes using ultra downscaled equipment as a template for her and being able to change the glow color as well. Oh, and a Se.# that has Lily spouting "HEY LISTEN!!!" would be nice as well.
I was thinking more along the lines of making fairies dyable.
That would be pretty awesome actually, I like that color combination of the regular skintone, green eyes and brown(ish) hair for the fairy.
Another thought that comes to mind is that the Fairie could take on the skintone, eye color and hair color of the scholar who they serve.
Let my fairy be replaced with a tiny lalafell WHM with wings
