@Naoki Yoshida-> Make Samurai a healer class!!!

Because we need more diversity in all those thread and beacusaue i want to be abble to heal my friend while turning them into little pineapple cubes ^^

I mean, they already have 3 sword tanks and one upcoming sword dps, so a sword healer would only be fair, ya?

Yess !!! definitly, we already got sword wielding tanks and dds, where is our sword heal? where is our melee heal? what other job than SAM could fit into this? yeah no one ! it makes perfect sense, a proc based healer where you need to use seppuku / harakiri when ever someone dies or gets a huge amount of dmg , obviously they befiled your honor , so you need to sacrifice yourself to get them up again, what a noble and honorful job

actually i think is a big miconception of the player, never they have said they will add one role at each expansion, means we can perfectly get 2-3 dps

actually , you could really put some more depth into it and make it work as a healer, using ceremonial swords to perform rituals to heal or shield people with "spiritual energy" , calling for spirits / spiritual animals or something like that to buff your party or debuff the enemies , and go into melee mode for dmg :D

sure i doubt that anything close to that will happen, and this thread is more of a Irony to those severel threads people posted , discussing the same object in every one of them if sam should be tank or not , but didnt battle of vermillion also started as a joke? :p

Aren't healers the first to be attacked in pvp? Even when you're doing a job quest and some healer adds spawn, the first thing your NPC partner tells you is " Take out the conjurers, we don't need them dragging out this fight!"

They need heavy armor just as much as tanks do. No need for mobility since most casting is done while standing still anyway.

And FFXIV is so much based on PVP, no pvp is just a sub division of the game - it's a pve focussed game, pvp is just optional! And what about tp? So you need tp to heal others or mana? @.@ pls healers don't troll us tanks.

Just imagine, putting your sword in the ground to summon Yokai to heal your teammates or making an healing aoe around you, diving with your katana from player to player to slash them in a flash just to put some regen...

And, samurai or not, healers need armors too. I'm waiting this for such a long time...

If there's only going to be 2 new jobs, then one job will need to fill tank/healer... I'm going to be really disappointed if there's a gap. There's 3 tanking jobs and 3 healing jobs...

I agree, DPS can choose from 7 roles, if it's gonna be DPS, excuse me but that gives them 8~9 roles to choose from ICW healers/tanks. No, it will be catastrophic and demotivating.

Kinky mmsz would be interesting for other things but I think a healer will struggle while being close ranged.

LOL It wont be the first time i sacrificed my self to save a fellow team mate.. i got my name back in ff11. it was more of a inside joke with my ls.. if you played ff11 you might remember if you die you would loose xp. i played a whm. well in a end game raid the pt was getting over run and i kitted 3 mobs and keeped healing the pt at same time. we won the fight but i died and a some one said i was a doorstop.. and i was like yea a tasty one..

Have the reveal for the Samurai be all dramatic and action packed with somersaults and stuff. Then in the middle of it the Samurai sits in the proper seiza position, and it turns out their sword is actually a fan and they're here to heal and refresh us through their masterful Rakugo performance.

am i the only one hoping samurai will be a job and not a class?

Samurais could aoe heal and buff really well in Tactics.

The real reason is that all of you just want another "healer" job that can be blamed at the end. We all know first it was the SCH, than the AST and I think by now it's even, both jobs are hated and blamed every time something is not the way people want it to happen.... Long story short we don't need another healer as well as we do not need another tank class.
