[Q] Why no more Companions?

Hi all brothers of Eorzea,
Just say that why no release more companions to grow with us?
Could be fun to all of us & our adventures.

Even if they made more companions, they won't ever bring them inside duties.

'Cause people don't really use chocobos sans leveling on F.A.T.E.s or possibly soloing notorious monsters, so it's a waste giving more time on it currently. (Even though I'd love moombas.)

Eventually, you can take your squadron into dungeons, so there's really no use for extra companions.

The reason they have given for not adding more is the resource investment needed to created and implement new companions. Making new companions means work not being spent on other in game animations and such.

You know it would be really awesome to let Chocobos+Squad members mix in dungeons. That would likely be worth revisiting chocobos for a moment.

I still wish the Path Companions from 1.0 would one day return... but that is becoming increasingly unlikely, especially given recent info about the upcoming additions to the Grand Company Squadron system (where once you've levelled them up to 50 and max rank you will be able to take them with you in dungeons and party content instead of having to make a full party).

So alas, as much as I miss her I don't think I'll be seeing my sophisticated, flirty, bisexual GLA kittygirl Path Companion Imarah again... *sighs sadly*

I was hoping we'd get a magitek armor as a companion one day.

Think that is more down to people can't use them rather than they don't want to...

I would use my companion so much more if I could only queue things while it's summoned. Which has been one of the biggest complaints ever since arr.

I agree, they were one of several interesting ideas buried deep under the morass of horrible ones that were put into V1.

I wish I could reskin my chocobo a la the new SMN glamouring. I would be happy with that. I don't really even use my bird except for interference while gathering in enemy heavy places. Hit it with a pickaxe and run like hell while my bird holds him off.

Why not just implement Companion Glamour akin to Egi Glamour? All that would be required (besides adjustments) is a new skin. Imagine if any of your mounts could be your Companion.

Of course, some would look absurd doing certain actions so many have to be excluded or be only a certain 'type', for example the Dandelion mount from the Moogle quest would be more suited to healing & a Magitek mount better as defensive.
